you all make me feel inadequate.
does my suffering please you people?
now im gonna go draw something and post it eventually. ya dicks.
Advice needed;
To draw something and get flustered because it looks awful, expecting good things to come out of quick sketches
Bad approach Y/N?
I mean it's pretty much rhetorical, but my head has an awful tendency to start scrambling when I start to draw anything, and I pretty much go at it haphazardly. It's difficult to explain, but it's almost as a panic response, and my self-consciousness brings me down a whole lot. I discourage myself and I feel ridiculous.
Starting to draw is fucking daunting, but you gotta remember that a lot of people who produce great art feel the same way. Someone you might think is the bee's knees may think their art is awful. Don't focus on what you're coming out with now, focus on improving.
got royally fucked off designing that racing car in the garage so decided I'd spend the day working on some of the driver assets

threes a good chance in hell that it'll never get made but if i do get the chance to then mark my works i'll be releasing it the exact day codemasters release whatever piece of shit they've cooked up. im not bitter about being forced to leave at all.
Suit itself is alright, but it would be better without that classic (and soulless) 'uguu' anime head imo
Planning colours for a future piece

I never know how to plan areas in terms of actual floor-plan spatial stuff. I guess it's tough when you don't have a reference for the cave you want to do
The floor looks severely tipped the way you've done it, like she's walking up a 60 degree incline
Nice scene
I think the thing that bothers me about the perspective is the top of the cylinder, which is just as curved as the bottom. That makes our viewpoint level with halfway up it, and that adds an odd scale to the scene when compared to the figure, ultimately making it look like she's climbing. maybe make the top less curved to emphasize camera position/angle a bit differently
Gah, how often do you start type replies and realize it's a post over 5 pages in the past?
i just do it anyway
fuck the system

good call, at that time in the morning i failed to spot the "uguu"
fixed it.
God fucking damnit I really need to keep drawing. I never practice - I only occasionally draw.
You people inspire me. D:

Spent a nice hour on this. Maybe did the sketch in 10-15 minutes idk?

I am rather proud of this thingy. I learned quite a few things from drawing that.

You seem to get the values down most of the time, but you have such a muddy palette in much of your digital work.

Oh hi
You seem to get the values down most of the time, but you have such a muddy palette in much of your digital work.
Totally this. I honestly think most of your work would look indisputably better if you used a better palette. I can appreciate most of the stuff, but looking at it does almost always make me think.. blah. It's just the palette; it feels so drab and unsatisfying for some reason.

just an idea. i dont think there are any glaring problems but let me know if I've missed something
His arms are very flat/stiff and skinny
Your sketching method seems very superfluous and unproductive, especially looking at his shoulders

Thanks, anything to suggest about the sketching style? It's the messy result of building up layers, and then changing things halfway through

you're not actually going to get that are you?
i dont mind sleeves but my observation of tattoos is that a design wont read as well as it would on paper and that you simply can't clutter them up. imo the design and readability of a tattoo says everything about both the wearer and the artist.

buncha super quick eye practice things
I don't think I learned much from doing them but it's a good warmup

im just saying that if he got that, then the tattoo would show even if he wore long sleeves. i dont know anything about the guy but I'm not sure thats a good idea under any circumstances. But I assume too much.
i didnt think of that but depending on what field he wants to go into yes it could be a bad idea

I wasn't bothering with thinking about perspective at all in this one; it was purely a colour test
Thanks for the advice though!
