It's still like saying you can paint with your dick, because other people have, it's just that it takes longer to master. It's harder to do than just using a tool that's intended to be used for that exact purpose. A tablet is the best possible purchase for anyone who wants to do graphic design or digital drawing because it achieves what you might get with a mouse with much more ease. It's not that it lets you produce more (that's a plus tho), it's that it skips the entire "getting used to using something that isn't designed to draw at all" thing and leaves more time to learn actual drawing instead of spending a day/week/month being frustrated when trying to draw a simple sketch with a mouse.
And again I don't in any way say that getting a tablet isn't just plain better, but it's still a valid tool that you can get used to and still make good art. You have to get used to using a tablet as well, it's just more natural like you say.
I didn't have to get used to it at all. When I first used a tablet it felt weird for about a minute, but then i could draw with no hassle I can't get used to a mouse for drawing at all, just feels super unnatural and I tend to get bored very easily (this is subjective though)
I use the mouse and I can't draw for shit so get a tablet.
Yea when I get some cash I may invest in one.
Yea when I get some cash I may invest in one.
In the mean time, you can draw it out on paper, then trace it with the pen tool.
Neither were my books when I used them as rulers.
This is a pretty apt comparison You can use a book to draw straight lines, but it's ill-suited for the purpose. You COULD spend a lot of time practicing and eventually come out with a comparably good straight line to that which you would produce with a ruler. But there's really no reason to spend the time and effort to do so
Work in progress Did a greyscale base image, used masks to colour the windows gold with a semitransparent multiply layer and use another semitransparent multiply layer to get the rest of the blue tint happening. Merged it all up and recolouring, repainting and refining areas now

A thick hard book draw straight lines just as good as a ruler.
Hello. Can anyone help me with finding some good brushes in photoshop? I'm an amatuar artist and is in need with some good brush sets to working with. Also if your even more generous, helpful tips will be cherished. Thanks.

As a tip though the Calligraphy brushes that come with Photoshop are very nice.

Just nice simple digital art brushes.

It should be warmish, sort of inviting. I had a bit of a soft-brush-linear-dodge light glow happening before I started painting over the original two-hue sketch which did boost the saturation of those warm areas a lot. But I see what you mean. I'm going for a bit of a rainy look so I'm thinking the greyer background might stick, but I'll try some quick variations and see how I feel. No FFVII reference; I've only really played VIII. It's based of a vague brief I accepted from a friend
No FFVII reference; I've only really played VIII. How's this? It's not the final because I did it on shit paper, but I can always reproduce it if I'm happy with it on the final:
