So, just a quick question, but what program do you guys use to animate the most?
Price really isn't an issue because I can buy most of what I need through the University, and considering I just got accepted into the ASU Architecture program, I figure I should treat myself a little bit :D
Bump for new page
I made this for my first year exam in 3d arts, I just want some feedback from you guys on what things I could change/add.

I use a combination of Anime Studio Pro and a lot of drawing.
ive seen like 20 drawings of that same exact fucking picture.
But it's edgy cause of the 'Br' dude. LOL I'M THE BEST.

Best part about these is that for the first millisecond you look at it you think that this is a photo.

I like how much section of flat color you left. At first you'd think it'd look less realistic, but here when you just render the essentials it's much more effective.
Here's some 10 minute contour drawings I did in figure drawing today:

new tablet came in, yay

unfortunately it was delivered to my office just a bit before noon so I had to force myself not to draw anything all day
That's a very flamboyant Canti.
I made this silly comic thing:

(half-assed photostudy, liked playing with cloud stuff)
both took the same amount of time. I think that's a sign
I love the dynamic pose and also the hoody on the robot
The fingers are very short and jutting straight out of the wrist, though
Some progress on the sword, I'm quite liking painting with my tablet and very happy with my first project. Just trying some different stuff. I like how the blade itself looks now I need to work on the grips and ornate details. What do you guys think?

I'd say bump up the highlights on the blade, it's looking very flat compared to the metalwork on the guard
Also the grip looks completely flat, taper the edges of those lines or something

Okay thanks!
I know the grip looks flat going to fix that when I'm drawing the final.
Given most of the content in this thread I feel as though I don't belong, but what the hell I'll show something anyway.
[img_thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/bzeC3x.jpg[/img_thumb] - Looking at this one again he seems a bit... wide. But oh well

And just for fun

I know they aren't scanned, and are very sketchy and that's because I drew them in my small sketch book, never meant to be anything serious

consider where the wear and tear should be, there's no reason to have 1px scratches all over the blade. it also reads as very flat because there's not any real lighting across it.

they look like drawings people do when they're interested in drawing but not really studying it. i guess, if I can't put it in a nicer way

Thats exactly what it is lol.

Yeah, thought that the scratches looked weird anyway, Any idea how to add shading to the blade part itself? It's actually a flat piece of metal. I'm new to this so all help is welcome! Oh yeah some tutorials on painting stuff like this would come in handy because I have no idea what I'm doing :v:
Monoprice tablets are decent tablets for casual non-serious stuff right?

considering that metal has a lot of small imperfections and whatnot, you should look into anisotropic reflections, though toned down quite a bit. I'm not a really that painter so i can't give tips specific to painting, more of a 3d modeler.

Okay thanks and I'm more a modeler too.
