heeeeeeeeeeere we go [editline]13th July 2012[/editline] but seriously my 2d tutor at uni reads that gay romantic apocalypse thing and just happened to come across detlef through that and he was going on about the same-face thing and he doesn't even know what facepunch is [editline]13th July 2012[/editline] but then again occasionally you try really really hard and focus on the face and it comes out different so maybe you just need to keep thinking about it and doing face studies and you'll get there eventually
Yes the faces are very similar, which is good to critique, but there's no need to actually make the comments so snide you know guys. What help is that.
Yes the faces are very similar, which is good to critique, but there's no need to actually make the comments so snide you know guys. What help is that.
they probably wouldn't be so snide if it wasn't the 50th time it's been said.
maybe being snide about things is unhelpful and doing it persistently towards what you see as a persistent problem is even more unhelpful. its not hard to be constructive
maybe being snide about things is unhelpful and doing it persistently towards what you see as a persistent problem is even more unhelpful. its not hard to be constructive
This is like saying violence doesn't solve anything. Biggest lie of the century.
they probably wouldn't be so snide if it wasn't the 50th time it's been said.
Is that really an excuse to be snide? No it is not. I also fully agree with what DOG-GY said.
This is like saying violence doesn't solve anything. Biggest lie of the century.
That's tbh a very bad analogue. Those two things are so far away from each other that it completely nullifies your argument. Rude behavior don't help.
This is like saying violence doesn't solve anything. Biggest lie of the century.
this is about the dumbest and worst comparison i have ever heard
this is about the dumbest and worst comparison i have ever heard
Great, you don't get a joke.
dont make dumb jokes then
Great, you don't get a joke.
I wasn't aware you were joking. I thought you were dead serious.
Great, you don't get a joke.
I don't see a joke in your post, did you hide it in a obscure way between the words in a way that only you can get it?
I don't see how I could make it more obvious.
I don't see how I could make it more obvious.
Then please do explain, I am obviously too dumb to understand your high-class humour. Or perhaps there wasn't a joke there in the first place, and you are just pretending that there is now?
shut up
Is that really an excuse to be snide? No it is not.
i never said it was lol
Yes the faces are very similar, which is good to critique, but there's no need to actually make the comments so snide you know guys. What help is that.
tbh i don't think anyone was actually very snide this time for a change so let's not start another 15 page argument about the exact level of niceness that should be employed when in this thread?
maybe being snide about things is unhelpful and doing it persistently towards what you see as a persistent problem is even more unhelpful. its not hard to be constructive
It's getting frustrating for the people who pointed out and explained that stuff like a dozen times
Little something I doodled out at this ungodly hour of the morning.
I swear facepunch has ruined me. I can never look at organic-looking objects that come to a point without immediately thinking Dragon Dildos <:(
I'm apparently due an appointment with Dr. Freud.
It's getting frustrating for the people who pointed out and explained that stuff like a dozen times
if anyone should be frustrated for any reason it's detlef, be that over how she views her improvement, time put in, or whatever. you have no reason to be frustrated since giving advice costs you nothing.
I thought Korra was supposed to have kind of a mannish face anyways

I once again apologize for my bad camera, it's all I have.
Neat
I wanna learn to shade, but I'm afraid I'd ruin it if I did it on that.
Get it to a photocopy store (I don't know what to call it)
Get it to a photocopy store (I don't know what to call it)
Ah you mean photocopy and print of copies and practice on those?
Scanned image of my first illustration posted earlier: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2319552/Gator.png[/t] WIP robot illustration - it's gonna be a 2-color nighttime scene
Ah you mean photocopy and print of copies and practice on those?
If you really have no idea how to shade then I'd suggest doing simpler objects than a car before jumping at it. Or just do what riki suggested and get some copies and practice on those.

Or just do what riki suggested and get some copies and practice on those.
Both are good ideas. I can draw the shapes of things easily enough. It's just the adding to it after I struggle with. I'll do both. Take some copies and also attempt some smaller shading tests. :)
