I like it haunted, bit that's bothering me is the edge of the mountain to the left, there is a rectangular section vertically that's off colour.
Thanks, I played around loads with an object in the foreground. It must be a cut-out from that I overlooked. I'll probably fix that and move on :)
I think he means the icons and stuff not scaling with resolution
Didn't know they had ever done that.
Here, have a german. [t]http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/196/8/d/german_wehrmacht_by_jonake920-d57c0nw.jpg[/t] Not perfect but I like how it turned out.
So I drew isaac from binding of isaac, I have a fondness for characters that don't require anatomy. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/isaac8.png[/t]
Again shoddy Camera. Can you guess the car?
getting there, i think its time to work on the wind generators in the bg next before polishing off the tree trunks and then some final clean up, might add a car on it depending on my mood.
I don't think you should add a car, because the drawing already has a good feeling to it, and the car would lony draw attention
Again shoddy Camera. Can you guess the car?
Ain't that a Ford Mustang?
Boss 429. :)
Boss 429. :)
Well, close enough.
Quite proud of this one (despite being horribly generic :) However I have no clue how to add colour correctly, I basically slapped a gradient on there. If i went to overlay browns or whatever on the mountain it seemed to mess with the values too much.
I love your environment work, but the dragon's ruining the composition. For something so underdetailed it's really dragging the focus away from what's obviously the primary point of the picture, which is the building on the left.
following that, I agree it's oddly distracting in such a nice scene. I'd suggest maybe perching the dragon on top of the building, overlooking the valley, or if that still feels like it kills the flow I'm sure it would be aesthetically pleasing sitting on that jaggy plateau on the right side. It would just blend in a bit more
Thanks I agree now I look at it. I quickly tried putting it on the roof of the right building but it was difficult to get it to read well. I think I might drop the dragon all together and move on :) (Drawing attention there shows how much i neglected rendering that building anyway :v:)
powergirl work in progress [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13290261/melonees.png[/t] bonus: striped panties
Let me tell you son, I spent 5 years learning and another 10 years in the industry so i could draw tits aww yeeeh
The "do it yourself" thread doesn't have enough viewers, and I figure this project was more creative than functional. I had a fire last night with some folks, and tried to make a few bowls using coals. Unfortunately they cracked because the wood was old. [thumb]http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee112/Maxwell31-GW/wood1.jpg[/thumb] So I decided to make plant pots for my Crassula platyphylla. The designs are burned in with a soldering iron, and the mushroom is made from a patron cork. [thumb]http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee112/Maxwell31-GW/qood4.jpg[/thumb] I'm going to build a miniature succulent terrarium in the patron bottle. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait till tomorrow to build the next flower pot. [thumb]http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee112/Maxwell31-GW/wood2.jpg[/thumb] :sigh:
[thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/32047569/Ring%20nebula.png[/thumb] I don't like the foreground stars. Anyone know some decent lens flare plugins or brushes?

quick face practice, no ref, as if you couldn't tell lol..
iunno if this is too simple to put in this thread but whatever

Use more guidelines for everything

Well I wanted to continue to show my process of this piece in my sketchbook so not to clutter this thread, but because I am a blue member I can't search for it. So bear with me if you find this image a bit repetitive. I wanted to show you how I begin to flesh out shapes for rendering, and while most pieces I would urge to start back to front, I am actually starting my work from front to back simply because in this piece it feels better for me. The way I created the explosion was by loading the basic special effect brushes and the nature brushes that come with stock photoshop cs4-6. I used the grainy ones and begin to use in between tones to blend them in. After this I took the smudge tool and began to smudge in the direction of the explosion, putting heavy smudges in the dark dirt, which is the dirt in shadow from the explosion in the center. I kept specks up in the air and the tips in harsh light of the impact unblurred. I then used one of the more watery brushes to create dirt spirals and create a slightly more sharp edge than the smudge tool to create some variety. During rendering I will add in much sharper specks of dirt and bring some larger ones coming in at the viewer past draven for some depth and an overlay to create dust flying from the impact.
This week I'm gonna hold a drawing bootcamp for myself, drawing at least 6-8 hours a day. Today: Sphere study, 20 mins? A portrait, 1,5 hours.
Hello. I'd like to consider myself a developing cartoonist. Here are some of my stuff from earlier this year. I drew this after exams were over.
That's a nice portrait, Pling, albeit a bit blurry. As for the sphere-study, don't forget the AO, and the reflected light, and the terminator
Let me tell you son, I spent 5 years learning and another 10 years in the industry so i could draw tits aww yeeeh
and countless hours of figure drawing over at the local strip club

Studies, yay! Who knew they could be fun.
The jawline on the last one is very masculine compared to the rest of the face
How about that? Updated the pic a bit. But that's pretty damn close to the ref so I can't really do much from over here if she has a manly jaw. The ref: http://www.leet.cc/by_kuminiac.jpg [img_thumb]http://www.leet.cc/countrygirl02.png[/img_thumb]

The ref: http://www.leet.cc/by_kuminiac.jpg [img_thumb]http://www.leet.cc/countrygirl02.png[/img_thumb]
The issue is, youre using the same soft brush on her face. Edges in light are harder and sharper, and your face does have hard points and creases that require a bit harder brush. Also if youre using the smudge or blur tool to blend, please don't. Get two colors you like, put the flow to 50%-70% and then paint both of them down next to each other fully opaque, then using pen sensitivity lightly brush the two colors to where the colors overlap. Use the color picker to this new color then move outward towards each color painting lightly so the new shade has more of each color on each side, keep using the color picker to get that color until you have a gradient in between the two colors you wanted to blend.
i usually paint with real low flow like 15% or so (always full opacity though) it makes blending very nice and easy
