what are u the hovercar authority
oh i miss this place [editline]15th February 2012[/editline]
Attempting to draw something more scenic. The main outlines are done (Just to see where everything will go) Added in some quick colour just to separate some things so it's not as messy [t]http://www.1337upload.net/files/SeclusionConceptWIP.png[/t] I'm mainly looking for criticism on the perspective, unless I'm doing something terribly wrong
First off everything is quite muddy and blurry. If you do lineart, I suggest you do long, confident strokes and use a 100% brush. For muddyness of color and texture, to fix it I propose blocking all the shapes sides and such out. On perspective, door is the first thing that shows up being awfully off. If an object is flat to the main plane, then the object has it's vanishing point on the planes horizont. Also the concrete plates are out of perspective. Getting perspective right is fucking tedious. Remeber that. If you did something perspective related and it wasn't tedious you should double check.
This expresses how I wish all problems could be gone just by stabbing something. edit- That sounds really "serial killer" like, but don't worry I haven't stabbed anyone or want to! ......yet.
wait you just told me you wanted to stab problems away and then said you don't want to stab problems away? You want your post count ready for that gold account badly, don't you?

Also I have a lower post count than most 2010 accounts.
he already has more than ten times the post count required for gold :v:
How much is required? I thought it was 5 years and 2,500?
5 years and 100
Guys and Girls and People-Who-Might-Just-Be-In-Between, guess what I just found! http://color.method.ac/ That thing! It's a color-picker thing that IMHO is really cool and interesting (I was geeking out when it started) [t]http://i.imgur.com/y9rXN.png[/t] That's my score on it. I need to work with tetrads! I know this isn't technically a creative work post but I guess it gets us more geared towards art discussion and less towards things of the stabby-and-Gold-Member sort (even if it was getting interesting.) Here, I'll add a sketch I did this morning. And some things I did last night (even though I really don't like them. :v: ) I was thinking "Woah I draw way too many women! (which is actually pretty ironic)" So I did a bunch of 30-second male gesture studies: I'm nearly positive I cheated on this one and I took like, 2-3 minutes: This one I don't like at all but whatever: [t]http://i.imgur.com/GPMNR.png[/t] Never felt quite right. I was going to show you guys a sketch that started out really well, but I accidentally turned the lady into a man so now it's stuck in that "Bill Kaulitz" zone. Or I should say it was stuck there, I totally deleted it on [del]purpose[/del] accident. -- Also, for those of you guys and gals who speedpaint, I was wondering if you guys did quick sketching before you did it or just dove right in? I don't know exactly how to start (even though I somehow ended up doing it twice.). With the other ones I either had a reference to look at or I started off the same color as the background and worked my way up. Both of which can't really be done all the time. So do you guys (and girls) like, make a silohette or outline or something and then fill in from there or what? I tried looking up tutorials and what I saw was rather people were painting over a painting (which isn't speedpainting!!!!), did a full finished work and then sped it up and called it speedpainting (which again isn't speedpainting!!!), or the one actual speedpainting I saw started off with the background being a really deep color of what the person's skin was which is frustrating because I have a very general idea that's practically begging to get out but every time I try it doesn't work out because the background isn't the same color or lighting as the foreground and it's very hard to get a form thought-out when you have no idea what you're supposed to be doing. (I get hung up on details like that) So, in short: How would you speedpaint something if you want the background to be a different color than the subject?
Font design assignment, I wanted to do more of a calligraphy type font but it became to big of a headache so my teacher suggested I use a hexagon. [t]http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/s720x720/425400_336848759692530_100001022273345_1019784_716149611_n.jpg[/t] Kinda of a WIP still, but same teacher as has a Illustrator drawing course that I took with them last semester and is right after my Typography, so I hang around and they bounce project concepts off me. They asked me to put a face on an egg only using the mesh tool, I know that the eyes and a bit of the lip are a little weird but I thought I'd just throw it in here with this post and not waste more when I finish it. [t]http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/395464_336845693026170_100001022273345_1019781_132420975_n.jpg[/t] Same situation except on the first day in which the professor was teaching them the basic tools of Illustrator. They instructed the class to create a beak shape, I created an entire bird. [t]http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/s720x720/427102_321767034534036_100001022273345_985140_1720906658_n.jpg[/t]
So I just switched into the secondary school on my High school's campus. And today, my third day, we had an assignment where we had to paint stuff on the bland walls. I painted Led Zeppelin:

Need to buy one of those cool clay-like erasers, I'm tired of having to get hundreds of pencils and shave/cut erasers to fit specific needs.
urp!
[editline]15th February 2012[/editline] and this one doesn't look as good as the other one imo. also, can we see the originals?
You guys have no idea how little time I had, I drew 8 panels in 6 days and I have been stressing like crazy to get it out in time, so sorry if the bg buildings aren't perfect.
Need to buy one of those cool clay-like erasers, I'm tired of having to get hundreds of pencils and shave/cut erasers to fit specific needs.
Kneaded erasers are fucking amazing
I liked this one better than the last one :/
i don't like how you alternate styles between panels so much either.
original isn't all that different http://i.imgur.com/XdXWw.jpg
i preferred the other one, seems like you worked the other one at your own pace. this one feels rushed.
ye I get it MenteR, you only had to tell me you didn't like it once. [editline]16th February 2012[/editline] it WAS rushed. I had absolutely no time.

saying you don't like it is not critique.
