Love this so much! Just drew this, was pretty fun to do [editline]6th August 2012[/editline] I think if I were to do it again I'd go a lot easier with the white on the fur; probably just use a white pencil
Somebody remind me, what's the shortcut for the pipette-tool again?
alt [editline]7th August 2012[/editline] (I if there's any chance you were asking for Ai)
It's alt in Ps too.
[sub]yeah... alt in Ps, i in Ai[/sub]
I want to explore this. Is there anyone living there? I'm tempted to imagine that there are some camps of people and maybe even small tribes/societies, but they are few and far between. This is an awesome concept.
Perhaps you will in a few years, I plan to make a game with this type of architecture.
Just messing around with mutants, photos and brushes. :v:
I've been mostly using Paint.net for basic image editing, but what programs do you guys mostly use for digital painting?
photoshop
photoshop
Any good alternatives that don't cost so much? [editline]6th August 2012[/editline] I remember another program which may or may not have been free being discussed a bit back.

[editline]6th August 2012[/editline] I remember another program which may or may not have been free being discussed a bit back.
Paint tool SAI is $50. A friend gave me a license as a gift. Don't worry brotha, I can't afford photoshop either. Also, I was in a 9 hour flight today and did this with the 1 hour 30 mins of battery life that my laptop could muster. worked with the same palette as the simpler bird i uploaded 2 weeks ago. Can anyone recommend any particularly good drawing tablets that aren't incredibly expensive?
The gimp is a free alternative to photoshop. And bamboo tablets are not so expensive, but in any any case DON'T buy "trust" tablets. Oh and some more drawings :
Got bored, so I made myself a new desktop background for my two 1440x900 monitors. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/rbkRE.jpg[/img_thumb] [editline]][/editline] Yeah, literally all I did was copy paste posters into PS. But it's kinda cool so I figured I'd share it.
A little miniature chest that was sitting on my table.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/KPBIr.png[/t] Me: So these are the Pearly Gates then? God: Yep. Me: And...and you're God? Bill Murray? God (Bill Murray): Yes, my child. Me: Okay. I'm okay with that...But...Before I go in, can I just ask you one question? God (Bill Murray): Go ahead. Me: What was the meaning of life? God (Billy Murray): It was drawing big dumb toothy smiles. Me: HA! HA, YOU FUCKERS. I KNEW IT.
its like ur not even improving at all (after the first one) literally just changing your weird ass rendering
To not see any change in that is idiotic.
he's "improving" but it's not an improvement, the style he is 'improving' to is weird and not nice to look at at all [editline]7th August 2012[/editline] the middle one is more visually pleasing even though its not great either
Horsehead is for scrubs, the Eagle nebula is way superior
I did that one too, a long time ago before I knew SAI existed [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/32047569/Eagle Nebula.png[/thumb] As you can probably see, not nearly as sharp as the ones I do now, and the lens flares on the stars are horrendous

Personally I much prefer the look of the third piece.
Not so creative since a guy inspired me to draw this.
Speedy sketches, especially the second one (Which is pretty sloppy, and I apologize. I screwed up the mandible big time, so I went of a very bad fused, ripping look. I need to work on that one.) But I sat down and doodled a bit tonight, and these were the results:

Definitely an improvement.
much better, imo

I fucking love this. Well, I thought about posting my first ever finished thing here, but after browsing too long, I feel pretty awful about what I did. Is that normal? Because now it just looks horrible to me.
Can anyone recommend any particularly good drawing tablets that aren't incredibly expensive?
monoprice makes tablets that are like $50 http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=113&cp_id=11303&cs_id=1084101&p_id=6251&seq=1&format=2 I have a wacom, but I hear these are as good as wacom's cheaper $150 ones.

I keep a folder of old work and from time to time i'll look at it and be reminded of what that piece taught me, it also helps reinforce my current knowledge as i find myself critiquing my earlier work. ive just woken up so this might not make sense, give me dumbs

[t]http://i.imgur.com/ZqvK9.jpg[/t] I told you it was awful. Sorry for ruining the thread with this. In my defense, I haven't been drawing for very long, but I don't know how far that excuse could possibly get me. [T]http://i.imgur.com/DqVxb.png[/T] Original pencil drawing, desaturated. Anyway, I have three questions. 1. How awful is it? 2. Should I quit art, or try to get better? Basically, do I have potential? 3. Any advice?
