Just free handing with a ball point pen.
reminded me of Binding of Isaac for some reason
How is that a spoiler, that's literally the beginning of the game.
i think hes talking about the "would you kindly" which is a big big spoiler
yeah that's true you shouldn't point out that phrase on the cover
it is done, and by done i mean no longer actively being worked on Thanks for the crits DGG, sorry I didn't reorient the second panel. I'm doing this shit weekly, so I'll try and fix it by not doing it in the future, yeah?
not really sure how to make it look like a more finished drawing. I may do some kind of fancy border and see how that looks. [editline]9th August 2012[/editline] HOLY SHIT I FORGOT HIS FUCKING TAIL i'm a monster [editline]9th August 2012[/editline] This is probably a really obvious no, but with my pug prints, would it be worth ordering a couple of prints with different colours? I mean my favourite would obviously be the closest to the original, but I don't think these look all that bad:

I do like the pink, blue and green colour, but they completely change how the pug looks. Only the original actually looks good imho. This is how they look like if the pug retained his original values. Works better on the pink and grey one at least if you ask me: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3655193/OriginalValues.jpg[/t]
Yeah I think some of the colour ones look okay at glance but that's all. I think I'll just go with the original for now. A little unsure how many to get made. Is 12 too few? Too many? [editline]9th August 2012[/editline] Oh yeah and I tried making just the background colour, and it looked really tacky. I think I'd have to do a lot more digitizing for that sort of effect to look good on a monochromatic drawing. [editline]9th August 2012[/editline] Gonna go with 13 prints (original colour) unless anyone reckons that's way off the mark. Makes it a nice even £20. Then if I can get away with maybe £8.99 a print I'll have almost made minimum wage if I sell half a dozen prints! :v:
he was initially going to be cartoony like castle crashers but things got goofed and now its this
The settings are incredible. Nice work. [editline]9th August 2012[/editline] I can almost say the piece would also look very nice without the character.
Very cool indeed. You are doing some pretty awesome landscapes! I agree with Garb, it would look nice even without the character. I have a few things to point out, though: - The character looks a bit odd proportion-wise. To me, it seems like you couldn't choose between a cartoony style or a realistic style. - The red values should be less subtle in my opinion. The contrast is a bit too much for me. - ONE last thing: Landscape-wise.. The foreground is good, the background is good, though the middle part seems a bit blurry. It looks like you tried to make it foggy, but it kinda ruins the perspective a bit. Try to have the middle ground a bit more visible. All in all, great job! Much better than anything I could create!

Haven't painted in a while, I tried to focus on lighting and contrast. Maybe should elaborate on the environment.
the figure kinda blurs into the cauldron because of the glow and because they're very similar in tone and colour. the whole thing in general is kinda under-contrasted and lacking in colour/material definition too (this is also why the cauldron and figure blend; because they look like they're made of the same material) try adding some skin texture with textured brushes to the skin and some better specular highlights and maybe some colour to the cauldron to mix things up a bit overall i like it though
I knew the cauldron texture was off I just didn't have the confidence to change it. I tried adding specular highlights and stuff but it was too distracting. I'll go back and revise this though thanks
how do i open up that mini preview square on the top right side of photoshop because i accidentally x'd it out and now it's gone
yup??
your pictures look too similar to this one to be a coincidence, i made me suspicious. -i get it, Robbobin didn't trace-
your pictures look too similar to this one to be a coincidence, i made me suspicious. ...more so when i was clearly advised not to trace anymore, and yet there it is
it's not a trace? i guess i should feel flattered? [editline]10th August 2012[/editline] if anything, seeing the ref image reminds me how horribly inaccurate it is
you can see it's not a trace, there's some differences here and there (example: puppies head in the drawing is bigger, and the ear is higher), but it's still a cool drawing, doesn't lose anything for just being a reference of that image
I bought a drawing tablet and it came in the mail today. Time to start getting gradually less shitty at making art.
I feel bad for kind of neglecting my tablet this past year. I never quite got the hang of it, and it would normally take so, so many attempts to draw a line that I'd draw effortlessly on paper. There's also something much more satisfying about having a piece of art that you can touch and hang on your wall without it just being a printout. Having said that though, a scan/photo of a piece of art almost always seems to look like arse compared to in person which is irritating since pretty much all of my work's exposure is online.
your pictures look too similar to this one to be a coincidence, i made me suspicious. ...more so when i was clearly advised not to trace anymore, and yet there it is
What makes you even think he traced it? There is a huge difference between tracing and using references. References is good. Trace is bad.
