i honestly don't get why you always put those circles on their cheeks
don't say my style i will flip a table
feel free to flip a table, i just like drawing them
I don't think the circles are inherently bad
why is there an overarching opinion that personal style is wrong in this thread?
Time to go to art uni in the states now tho, on Monday. Finally!!
You're moving to the US to go to an art school? Where are you going?
style is weakness before you learn the fundamentals.
This is what most art schools will teach to freshmen, forget style, learn the basics, and then the style will come by itself, stronger.

Because personal style is not something you should have before you know all the fundamentals. It will hinder you and allow for excuses to not learn.
If you build a style for how to draw a face before you know how to draw an ideal anatomical face then learning how to draw a anatomically correct face can be harder because you've developed habits on how to draw it that crashes with how it should be drawn. Removing those habits takes a lot of work.
This is the first ink wash that I'm generally happy with. I'm just getting into drawing, so C&C is appreciated.

I really don't see how drawing some extra circles on cheeks will hinder my learning.
I really don't see how drawing some extra circles on cheeks will hinder my learning.
Those are far more useful for beginners than 'just circles'
Forget about style for now, sure, continue working that way but you have to learn proper anatomy and basics of figure drawing before you can perfect your own style.
As in the name, 'styles' are almost always stylizations of the real thing.

I feel like his torso should be tilted 20 degrees to the left
and I think his right shoulder should be more involved in the action of his arms
But aside from that, the rendering and colours are really fantastic

Minor thing, if you're taking photos of your work, hold the camera perpendicular to the page or we get a foreshortened view of the drawing

I agree, I think think at some point when I redesigned the shoulder armour and torso from the sketch I lost track of the over all design and the 'flow' of the pose.

it's pretty much impossible for me to not draw fan arts 99.9% of the time
heavily inspired by sachin teng's artwork; i followed his illustration tutorial!

A super simple sketch of a spoon, following Matt Kohr's tutorial on gesture drawing, C&C would be appreciated.
Edit: Just noticed that the perspective is off, looking at it a second time :/
Edit: Cleaned it up a bit and fixed the perspective as much as I could:

Can I get some critique on this so far

It's gotta be 2 minutes, I might end up having to lower the framerate

Sorry to bother you guys again with this, but which is better?

Agree for 1, Disagree for 2.
And no, this isn't the only drawing I'll ever do. I've been drawing other stuff since, just haven't finished anything yet.

It's not "finished" but its finished. I think this turned out pretty well, just my experiment in changing the opacity up. When you're at around 70 percent, it seems like the it just paints itself. The small value changes you get are great.

So what do you guys think of this composition and rough ideas for this poster, it's obviously just a major WIP mock up for ideas, but how does it look, any additions?
Also, it's a mockup for a poster I am doing for Graphic Design in school based on a Swatch Watch design for Dia De Los Muertos

Rated funni, it's not done yet obviously :(
I've been hooked on making User Interfaces for a while. Also some websites. Dumping some of them here.

good, but it could be a bit faster and have more hand-drawing interactions. For faster I mean, for example, in the beginning, having 2 hands do 2 different things instead of having 1 hand do one after the other. We already know what's written there, and you don't need to put too much importance to the letters fadina way, so do it quickly if you have to
Another doodles of heads and helmets.

I really like your stuff, but some of the more detailed areas of your armour things lately seem to end up looking kinda flat to me. Where it's just a human head looks fine, but that helmet just seems like it doesn't have much depth apart from one or two odd places. The one with the yellow visor doesn't seem as bad as the other two for it though. It's kinda like you've paid attention to the depth of the little detail parts on the helmet, but not the depth of the overall shape of the helmet.
Unless it's meant to be a broad, flat-faced helmet shape, in which case ignore me :v: (In any case, it still looks pretty damn great)
'Sup guys.
Anyone miss me? No?
Anyway, I know a lot of people that go here don't live in the States, but I'm at the point where I need to get in gear looking at/applying to colleges.
That said, does anyone have any suggestions. tips, etc?
hey guys
anyone here aquainted with flash know how to enable using the fill tool on the backgrounds?
i can't for some reason and it's pissing me off :v:
