mad max + british stereotypes = these designs?
Bingo. It's gonna be a post-apocalyptic survival game set on a fictional UK island. I'm starting with the most stereotypical stuff because i find it the funniest to think about.
Models downloaded from Sketchup warehouse, converted to .obj, and then rendered in Vue 6. Edits made in Gimp.
Bit small.

pretty cool, your gf is pretty but I usually don't like it when you draw one part till it's complete and then leave the other parts for later
pretty cool, your gf is pretty but I usually don't like it when you draw one part till it's complete and then leave the other parts for later
yeah this is not my usual workflow, i don't know why i focused so much on the face and forgot about everything else.
Some WIP:
This is quite possibly the biggest thing I've ever done. I found an old advertisement poster in my garage and I decided to draw on the back of it. It's my take on surrealism. It's mostly done in sharpie and pen. I also blotched some water mixed with black paint. I call it, The Overseer.
Accidentally ended up drawing Liam Neeson.
the pic looks blurry because of the celphone pic, i think it looks a bit better than that. i'll give it to her since she asked me to draw her in the first place!
hiyer i'm back from my completely voluntary hiatus haven't really produced much in the last 7 days, the only thing worth posting here is maybe this [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7346219/Arts/New/eaglenebula.jpg[/img_thumb] I really wanna do a big one on a 20x40" canvas so i'mma save my penies.
i'd buy that so fucking hard

The neck should probably also be a bit darker, and the hair also looks kinda flat. Also, shouldn't the space between the eye on the right and the nose be darker? This is what I mean with the whole "starting in one part while leaving the rest as a sketch"

Anybody got any good tips at adding detail to environments? Every time i try it ends up looking lame.
Anybody got any good tips at adding detail to environments? Every time i try it ends up looking lame.
Damn gurl dats fine. I would look at that grey cloud that's just to the left of the center; the shape needs a bit of rethinking. I also think that in terms of composition it's a bit tight at the top. You've got these big mountains and this huge mass of black at the bottom but no breathing room at the top. Feels pretty tense. I'm also a bit confused as to where the foreground ends at the background begins; it's well defined on the right but the way the dark gives way to the lighter areas is confusing the depth, especially where the river ends nearest us. In terms of detail it's up to you. I would reference the shit out of some photographs and see how detail is laid out in real life; I know it's very hard to place things on landscapes and have them look realistic. Sometimes just some undefined darker shapes to hint at trees and forests can make it look great. Holy shit it feels great to critique an environment again. Critique-balls of the bluest blue
[img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7346219/Arts/New/eaglenebula.jpg[/img_thumb]
This s a very interesting piece especially when I went in for a closer look. Kind of inspires me to pick up a paint brush that isn't on a certain program that came with my computer.

Why when I try to draw people with their proportions like these: (Idealistic) They always end up too long. But when I draw their bodies = 2 heads, legs = 3 heads, they seem fine. Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong?
I remembered this old image from when I was working in Maya about 3 years ago Thinking of redoing it as a painting and less rigid/stiff
here's the finished portrait of her [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/gabisfafjasff2.png[/t] thumbing it since i don't wanna spam u guys with it
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3609329/Untitled-1.jpg[/t] I realized this pose was rather boring, so I didn't really add much detail and just colored the sketch. I'll probably make a better pose with a similar looking character later.
I think simplicity is best. It's an okay pose.
