Use lighter strokes maybe. I don't think there's much fundamentally wrong with your sketching since it obviously gets the job done, but you could probably speed up your work and create nicer forms if you used less pressure and erased any superfluous lines in your sketch as you went
art
wonderful
Quick After Effects test Eh.
its like some background for PS3, although some tweaks would be nice if you intend of perfecting it
its like some background for PS3, although some tweaks would be nice if you intend of perfecting it
"like"? it's virtually identical
That was the intention, as stated in the description. Glad that it at least resembles it. I'm open to all critiques and suggestions. I'm just trying to experiment with the program.
If you're making an abstract background for what is effectively a pretty busy front bit then you should make the lines a lot blurrier or less well defined, or if you want to keep them sharp try making them a lot thinner and numerous
"like"? it's virtually identical
i didn't know, I don't own a ps3
It actually was more based on the PSX or PSP backgrounds, as the PS3 is more of an undulating 3D particulate tube.
Made this this evening, mostly just some ideas. It's really hard for me to keep the full 3d model of complicated objects like armor in mind, so I'm going to rethink some stupidity and various inconsistencies tomorrow, and make the first picture with dude completely based on the concept, not some random shit. he looks blobby and doesn't have a remarkable silhouette. looks generic to say the least :[
arms look a tad bit too short for me, but might be the bulky suit
he looks blobby and doesn't have a remarkable perspective. looks generic to say the least :[
Well, "boring and generic" is my second name. But that's not the reason to stop trying, right? I have fun drawing things, and who's to blame that my imagination is at level slightly below absolute zero? :)
his arms should be longer i think
he looks blobby and doesn't have a remarkable perspective. looks generic to say the least :[
You don't need a remarkable perspective if you're doing a plan view of something
i didn't mean perspective, i meant silhouette. english isn't my first language, sorry.
he looks like a cog with a lost planet NEVEC helmet lol
Anyone have any tutorials or info sheet type things on armor? I keep wanting to make armored stuff but Im completely at a loss on what it should look like and how it should be structured to protect and be mobile?
that sounds like a thing you should research
he looks like a cog with a lost planet NEVEC helmet lol
heh, people often say that I use the elements of some game's units in my drawings. The funny thing is that I don't play games much, so both cog and that lost planet were a complete mistery for me until google helped me out.

How does one see out of such a hat
-nvm couldn't find it-
that sounds like a thing you should research
Ive tried but havent really been able to find anything. I guess of no one here knows of any ill just have to power throigh some observational work. Ill post it as I go
Ive tried but havent really been able to find anything.
Do you mean vehicles with "armored stuff"? And "look like" and "structured", like the overall silhouette or rather the details like paneling? Because if you just mean the overall shape, I'd say it's enough to check out wikipedia and read about modern ones, old ones, and look at pictures of them. If you really don't know what to look at, here are some starters: Leopard 2, T-90, M1 Abrams, Merkava (Those are all MainBattleTanks, you might be interested in things like APCs, IFVs and Self-propelled Artillery as well) Then the armour itself: Why Sloped, Reactive Armour, Slat Armor (, Vehicle Armour Category) And what is used against it: Anti-Tank Missiles, Shaped Charges, Anti-Tank Warfare I think there's also an Armour thread in GD, maybe they can help you out if you can specify what you are looking for
Something I'm working on right now
