I would suggest not having such a strong and clear lightsource when you aren't actually implementing a proper light source. Everyone has the same yellow highlight despite being at very different distances and places. It makes the whole thing look like a flash scene consisting of pre-made art assets being copy and pasted to make a scene. Adding light to your characters is what you should do after you've given everyone and the scenery the base colours. It should also be planned out when you decide where to put them.
Also, the zombie's hand looks like an inflated surgical glove
I like the style itself though...
TBH they kinda freak me out.

Hey guys. Thought I might as well sell this drawing but I'm having a hard time getting a photo that doesn't look like wank. The black areas just look jet black in person, but when photographed/scanned it looks like this. Could one of you maybe see if you can edit it so that it looks remotely presentable? [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7346219/Arts/moriasneaky.jpg[/img_thumb] [editline]19th October 2012[/editline] I think I sorted it: [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7346219/Arts/moriasneaky2.jpg[/img_thumb]
the last lotr still I drew sold for £20 so I'm asking for 15 unless it doesn't sell for a week in which case i'll probably put it down
wish I could draw.
I did this for an assignment in drawing class, but the teacher never offers any feedback. How'd I do?
Not bad, but could be better. Take a look at: 1. The shape of the nose. 2. The lighting of the lower lip. 3. The lighting on the eyelids. 4. The highlights on the bow-tie. I'm noticing that you have a tendency to make things darker than they actually are. Keep in mind that the eraser is as much a tool for rendering as the pencil, and use it to place highlights after you've gotten the mid-tones down.
I like the angular shapes you've given it
what would you guys say I need to work on the most? also, how do you make circles selections in SAI without expanding the brush select tool? it created a pixelated outline because of it why is this dumb? I'm just trying to get feedback on my brushwork
My Two-dimensional Foundations professor made this, apparently it has picked up a bit of recognition across dA and has been featured on a few websites. http://michaelmayne.deviantart.com/art/Ganon-Style-330146792 I didn't know if this would better fir the dA Appreciation Station or now so I just threw it in here.

A perfect aliased circle stamped on your canvas like that is gonna look flat unless you work into it a LOT Plus it could really do with a shadow underneath it
Eh, painting perfect spheres frustrates me tons simply because they never turn out completely perfect, but you're right
That's sort of the point of painting.
Eh, painting perfect spheres frustrates me tons simply because they never turn out completely perfect, but you're right how do you think the value changes turned out though? too marked?
Well your blending looks fine if that's what you mean. I can't comment on the quality of the highlight itself because that depends entirely on what the sphere is made of. If you didn't have any material in mind for the sphere when you did it, I can't really say whether it should be brighter or duller or whatever. Something you should look into is the "anatomy" of shadows. Actually I'll just grab a diagram for you while I'm here; [t]http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TXTHJu9vNj8/TwOsjpv_pII/AAAAAAAAAZ8/FVhhkF2XC4A/s1600/1309621948542.jpg[/t]
Did this for an hour to wind down from work. I tried to record it, but the quality was shit, and the color was all fucker'd up. Oh well.
william birkin???
A real quick photostudy to get back into the swing of painting Had the reference on my other monitor which is a bit cold at the moment so the colours in the painting aren't as warm as they should be http://wikitravel.org/upload/en/thumb/f/f1/Scotland2.JPG/250px-Scotland2.JPG

Your sky is light blue, but it looks too dark and.... wrong. reference | yours And the greens in your painting are either too saturated or really grayish and the colours don't blend well with each other.

I just checked it and the colour of the sky is pretty wack that's what I get for keeping my reference on an uncalibrated screen haha
