We are working on these giant 7 foot boards with this great big paper. Really weird drawing this large.

I'm sorry but the foreground should not be out of focus since you clearly tried to focus on the radiator.

So, er, yeah. Working on story boards. Character designs. That sort of thing.
goddamnit where's my vicodin
can someone post that fruit painting tut please
please?
Seeing as the other two got no response, there is probably no use in posting this. But, whatever.

Nowhere near the level of you guys, but I guess that's what makes it 'doesn't deserve a thread'.

Don't let the other discourage you! Some people that post here do deserve an own thread but this is kinda the general discussion thread so they post it here.

Oh hey don't be like that. First rule of criticism, I like to say, is to not judge yourself. And it's an important one. You should find learning words from someone who knows what to say about your work, and not your own self-esteem. After all, we have to start somewhere.
As far as your robot goes it only gives out an up and down dimension since it's looking rather flat. Have in mind that even if someone takes a picture of something straight ahead, you can still percieve three dimensions: a depth. What would happen if it was standing slightly facing the left? From behind? Or above? I suggest that you practice this by drawing said shapes in a correct perspective, and then try to shade it and add a shadow to the object. It could be anything from a sphere to a human's heart.

Wow just researched him, love his work... Time to do some master copies.

Yes. Of course.

Shit every time I see an amateur drawing of a wolf it reminds me of that thread about the bestiality forum where 9/10 users wanted to be "raped by a pack of wolves"

It's very flat, there is little to no depth in the wolf. Also solidify your linework. Try and get smoother lines along the outline.
This may just be my stylistic preference, but for a digital painting I wouldn't outline it in black.
Also, take a look at this heavily WIP background for a website.
I need C&C

horizon line looks really low. i assume this is the tail gunner of a ww2 bomber but the horizon line makes it look like the weapon is situated in a tall church tower or something
[editline]4th February 2012[/editline]
oh and read up on atmospheric perspective; your land gets darker as it gets further away from the viewer which doesn't make sense

The lighting on the horrifying creature that makes up my nightmares is great, but you need to learn textures, The rocks for example look velvety and the lighting on them is shiny when they would have a coarse texture to them.
Also you need to take into consideration sharpness. The lighted areas will have sharp edges on both the mouse and the rocks, but currently most of them have the same edge strength as the shadows and background, making the field behind the rocks seem very flat.
edit- I still love this piece.

Are you having it load a map on launch? Because that's kind of stupid considering you can just make a background video.

Looping it is way to hard considering everything moves, and it makes the actual loading of one of the game maps significantly faster since the engine has previously loaded a level.
Loading time if not loaded a previous map is ten seconds, and first time loading takes two seconds.
I just bought my first model kit, it's a squad of PMCs and a VIP official. I never had any modelling experience this is my first, and I say I'm not disappointed at the results, but also not very proud of it.

Thank you. Although I guess it's safe to say that I need to start using textured digital brushes instead of basic/soft ones. This is also my first serious environmental piece so I'm hoping to improve later on.

i think you should work on your lines first
Anyone have some nice resources and/or recommendations for a beginner like me? I'm serious about getting good so I need all the help I can get
