Felt like drawing a pose a bit different from the standing-still-arms-along-body that I usually draw, came up with this [t]http://i.imgur.com/d7Ley.png[/t] And the unpolished basic pose WIP before because why not [t]http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2012/46/1352774459-fucksdoodle.png[/t]
I think you neglected the hips/butt in your clothed version; it's lost a little of the bulk and a lot of the twist that the unpolished drawing had; perhaps try adding some folds to the shirt fabric to indicate a twist in the fabric; try also using physical joins and seams to help give form to the shirt. The wrist that we can see could also benefit from a lower hanging underside of that sleeve-cuff, just to show without a doubt that it's a long sleeved shirt and that the non-anatomically-correct silhouette of the forearm is justified by being clothed Otherwise it's great!

Love the strokes, the saturation feels a little bit much. It also looks rather unfinished as opposed to really impressionistic and loose.

I think the tower things could use a little more polishing. I see what you were going for with the darker shapes around the towers but it looks like the sky is overlapping the tower in an unfinished/unpolished way. Also the grainy detail on the hills and on the mountain in the background are too scarce and make it look like you didn't finish the hills at the lower center of the picture either.

They would probably have planes facing partially towards the light, planes facing completely away, etc. That one with the vines hanging off looks great though.

It's nice but the figure spoils it a bit. Looks off and messes with the proportions of everything else when you look at him/her
I want to try oil paints really badly, and SAI can sort of replicate the way that they smudge. I used it for this concentration for one of my art classes. [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/32047569/Concentration%203.png[/thumb] I am unhappy with the colors on it; color is something I was never good at and I need more practice with it. Critique?
Okay, I promise this is the last time I post this stupid thing. All done now, finally. On to something a little more simplistic. Also, I totally fell in love with Photoshop's square brush set.

Is there a knack to using square brushes? I remember trying in the past and it just looked incredibly sloppy. What do they offer that round brushes don't? And do you need pen tilting for it to be effective?
I like to use them without direction turned on and with a relatively low spacing. Pretty good for industrial forms, buildings and mechanics. I also like to turn on scatter and use them for random but gridded window placement

I haven't drawn with my tablet for a while, just felt like doodling something. I'm terrible with colors.
Everybody probably hates that god damned patch of grass I keep redrawing. I myself hate it and it's the last time I am redoing it. Tried to put al lthe advices given to me together. Drew shadows and highlights in greyscale, etc etc. Not sure if it's an improvement. The shoulders are wrong though. A human just can't have them like that - the angle between the two shoulder lines starting at the collar should

It will give you a better idea of what you're doing and how things look in comparison to each other. Either way you're definitely improving.

yeah, luck mostly
Goddamnit, Maloof, I love your work. Do you sell prints because I would buy the shit out of them and hang them ony my wall. Can you give a little insight in your techniques?
A quick and dirty cycle I did in 5 minutes.
I know most of you typically hate these kinda posts where I ask for your help with no new content or anything but if any of you can share any thoughts it'd be most helpful! So I can make 4 entries into this local art exhibition, and people can buy the pieces. I'm thinking of these 4, unless I can find the time to do another before friday to replace one (most def the woman) [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7346219/Arts/New/pugnebula.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7346219/Arts/New/SCANtigerredux.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7346219/Arts/New/eaglenebula.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7346219/Arts/New/womanscan.jpg[/img_thumb] do you think £35 each is a reasonable sale price (30% commission for the exhibition)? I hate pricing artwork; by far the most stressful, unsavoury, arbitrary part of being an artist. it's taking place over like 3 weekends over the next month so there should be a lot of potential buyers. should I ask for a lot more? a lot less? It's a total headache.

Just what's here I think, unless I have some pieces lying around that I've forgotten about: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Robbobin I may have time to do another drawing on thursday; I'm thinking something along the lines of robots and/or nebulae again, because they're so fun to do? :v: All 4 of those drawings are A4 and I don't think I have anything else that size ready. Obviously them all being the same size isn't obligatory, but a 5x7" drawing may look a little pokey alongside.
I like this one better. E: Btw I sent you a message idk if it helps
