[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18266801/Drawings/2011_girarilla.jpg[/t]
I think its the angle of the neck and head that makes it look flat. It should be coming more towards the screen rather than directly to the left, based on how the body is positioned.

This will be a challenge, well for me.
I think it's amazing as is
Thanks.
I'm thinking of starting a weekly or fortnightly thread series where I give you all a topic or a goal to then create a piece of art in response to this topic and in any medium. For instance, I might give you the brief 'a city where cats outnumber humans' and then participants could draw a character from this city, or create an animation showing a cat-powered electricity generator, or create a 3D model of a building designed to accommodate cats as well as humans, or a door with several dozen cat-flaps. It's about not only meeting the base idea of the brief but also thinking 'how can I expand on this idea and make something new and neat'. Would anybody be interested in this if I started it up? There probably wouldn't be winners and losers; it would be primarily a community fun time

Stopped drawing for a while to study for my bloody tests but I was bored. Is this a duck or a goose?
I'd say a duck.
I wouldn't be too fast and loose with throwing the word "brief" around To me it's a synonym for "unpaid work" :v:
that's not a very accurate view of it though In all companies and schools you get given briefs to work towards any new project has a brief written up and handed out to the relevant employees
Yes, and I've just finished a year of having real briefs thrown at me, with real bellend "clients" (the teachers) but sans the dough The word "brief" now gets my goat :v: [editline]21st November 2012[/editline] TMV sketch And may as well include this crappy refless mech thing to beef up the post
Also I just found this Andrew Loomis PDF which is giving me all sorts of jollies

quickies from tonight, will finish them up tomorrow, might ditch the bottom and do a lot of reworking on the second

Trying to get back to drawing people that atleast resemble human based on what I remember from a internet tutorial from year or so ago. I am attempting to draw a guy walking with a big bag in rain with his shoulders elevated (because of rain). still sketchy sketch
What the hell are these "Perfect grills marks" when I searched for "Perfect Cross-hatching"?
Dat crosshatching.
don't ask where the light is coming from. Let's pretend there is a huge offscreen to the right.
Okay here's another paint, tell me what you think.
I love the colours [editline]21st November 2012[/editline] Other than adding more detail I love it <3
Wish I had time to take an art course. Feeling frustrated and disturbed due to not knowing what to do next.
draw
Sloppy head turning animation All the frames http://i.cubeupload.com/wrPfEP.png
Okay here's another paint, tell me what you think.
Kinda hard to tell if that's lava, if it is it doesn't feel hot, it should radiate a small amount of light and not be so dull and washed out in color. I think lava usually goes from bright white to orange, to red, to black as it cools. Looks nice anyway.
draw
holy fucking shit
