Anyone wish to help out a donation service being created?
I'll be hosting/creating a donation event for needy families/children for the holidays. That will be for clothing and toys. Unlike the other events these are all personal pickups and deliveries to families in need. Various (Many) citizens will be able to volunteer to gather and distribute to specific locations.
We plan on visiting children hospitals or hospitals containing young ones and defentily delivering clothing/ toys to struggling families.
The sum up is, Ill even pay out for someone to help me create a graphic flyer (Standard 8 by 11 paper) so we can advertise it out more. I always used you guys for commission work when it came to other subjects so here it goes again.
If I can do something you'd like I'll do it for free, what are you looking for bruv

I usually ask the artist to give there creative ideas to it, Holiday theme in mind.
http://i.cubeupload.com/36hthl.jpg
^ City logo thrown in somewhere along the design. And to make it open to most holidays preferably if you thrown in santa, throw in the rest of the holidays also. It's going to be printed on regular paper and posted up on poles, notice boards, all over the city and then handed out house to house in the mail, and at shopping centers.
Edit:
It'd also include a few links such as my website and my facebook page so they can stay updated on donation results and whats going on. I don't want to spam my website all over facepunch so we can take it to pm if your up for it.
aaaaahaha I realised a big problem with much of my work is that I tend to misjudge shadow and contrast and use lightness of shadows and severity of contrast to create depth; high contrast and dark shadows in the foreground, lighter shadows and lower contrast in the background as a strict rule-of-thumb.
Which is obviously very incorrect.
I'm gonna look at a bunch of concept art and traditional paintings to see what other people are up to

I'd be interested to see the pic
Don't be ashamed of posting work that you don't like here; if we can't see it then we can't give you tips on how to improve!
Which image were you talking about with my mountains?
We had a big thing months ago about not using low opacity brushes. I say stuff it; if you know what to look for and how to make it look good, then low-opacity can be a great method of working. I generally tend to keep my brushes at 80-90%. You just have to be concious of the colours that are coming out of the low-opacity brush strokes and whether they are desirable or not:
Say you wanted to blend a green highlight with a blue-ish shadow on your mountain. You wouldn't just paint the whole thing green then use a low opacity to blend a single blue-ish tone over the top; you'll notice that the in between the solid green and solid blue, where it's not fully blended and you've got a mix of both those colours, will look really dull and desaturated, and most likely a bit unrealistic. You want to pick a bunch of tones (3-4 maybe) and put them in so that you manually create a bit of a fade (like a really blocky gradient), and then use low opacity to mix each of those 3 or 4 together.
You can also just use two colours and low opacity then go back and touch up the dull bits if that suits your painting method better.
Bear in mind that I"m not saying everything you do has to be high-saturation or not a dull tone; everything is subjective to what you're painting, the lighting conditions, etc. This tripped me up when I first heard it and I thought that every image had to be really colourful; it doesn't have to be at all, especially if your subject matter (a foggy morning, a massively polluted city) calls for a dull and monotonous pallet.
Thank you! I will try to redo that thing today

Just stick the links on here, nobody will mind. Plus others might have better concepts than me, I'm not too hot with lighthearted holiday stuff to be honest :v:

I hope it's not
I don't know what Pivot is but I like those things.
it's a stickfigure animation program. It's really simple, free, and if you get really good at it you can make some good stuff.
For example (Not mine): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHHYHreFYUs&feature=share&list=UUw9XK2w_UiPY4jwtVAHT1pQ

Slightly confused, didn't you say it was a charity event/volunteer-run service? I didn't realise it was a small-time campaign to elect a city councilman or something

I can't tell what gender it is, if it's supposed to have one
I'm going to assume its male because it looks like a soldier
Beef up the legs, add some knee pads, pockets, or pouches of some description
Aside from that your rendering and sense of light is pretty spot on
Gosh darn, trying to remake the GameGrumps intro takes time. Rough work so far.

Just realised I missed posting something last page, I am bad at this.
Since everyone else does landscapey stuff, I thought it was time I tried, since I have neglected to do anything like that up to this point. Here's my warmup thumbed (yeah I regret using that shitty chalk brush or whatever it was):

Note, I started out with a little mage guy sitting on the tree with a fishing rod, but he was fucking everything up so I painted him out. That is why it's not particularly interesting
Concept art for the character models in a game a friend and I are making. We only have basic terrain down so far, but we'll see how well this works out.

I'm yet to add the mounted Hussar

I am in dire need of inspiration, I almost never draw anymore... and if I do it's always another freaking face or something I did in 30 minutes.
I used to take breaks from drawing for 1-2 days after each session. Now that gap is around 1-2 weeks.
