why not upload and even sell stuff on something like istockphoto?
I hate having to pay for stock images and I don't want to force other people to do that in order to do photostudies from my photos
SXC.HU is a good free, fullsize download stock site.
url looks sketchy as shit tho
It'll show a row of istock or whatever images that match your search but the site and its own contents are free. Not sure how you'll advertise yourself anywhere specifically for art reference but it's a start just having stuff up. Also pretty cool of you to want to make sure your stuff is available for free
I mean, you could always put things up on deviantart as reference images but I don't think that's quite the right place

dude i try so hard to paint digitally but i can't do a single pear study. a fruit study.
i can do traditional art but for some reason i just can't do anything digitally because it always looks wonky and terrible, and i feel that i'm doing something wrong with the tablet or whatever but no, it's just that i SUCK at digital painting.
which sucks because it limits me a lot, i'll never get a job as a concept artist or get money for my stuff, do pieces for people, be good as you guys.
i just can't grasp blending stuff, i lay down the basic values and then how the fuck do i blend it? how do i render stuff digitally? it always comes out wonky, and this ahs been really pissing me off. today i got my tablet out again and tried doing something, it looks terrible. if i had paint and a canvas i'd still do a way better job than a digital software that gives me EVERYTHING i need.
i just suck

and i bought this tablet with my money but whenever i try drawing something on it... it feels like a waste. dude, fuck.

I felt like this a few weeks ago too, then I watched alot of videos on this place http://www.ctrlpaint.com, the guy who makes the videos is awesome at explaining all the fundamentals.

This is honestly like my third or fourth digital drawing ever, and I've only finished one sketchbook traditionally. You just have to have some knowledge to get you started. That's at least how it worked out for me.

Yeah ctrl paint is an excellent resource if you're starting out with digital artwork

If no one else who is better than me at digital wants to do so, I'll make a blending tut for the thread sometime soon.
Or you could use that ctrlpaint link or whatever that I didn't see before typing that :v:
so, anyone wants to team up to do some shading for a comic im making? its pretty much the story of darkseed
was doing some water color practice, then proceeded to spill about half my ink all over the ground. Then decided im not going to have about $3-4 worth of ink go to waste. so i made some modern art all over the page

this is my first doodle ever on the tablet, thanks a lot bodenlan2 :)
I don't have a lot to post right now. I'm really hoping to get back into art properly soon, gonna set up a schedule and really work on it. And I found my tablet pen so that's cool too.
In the meantime have my first attempt at animation that took me way too long and was a failure compared to what I wanted to do, but it served it's purpose and it felt great as I studied my mouth and learnt more about the (extremely) basic form of it, and personally I feel I improved hugely from the first frames to the last. Although it's harder to notice after I went back and applied what I learned by the end to the start.

It also made me realise that GIMPs layer options are really lacking.

Oh... What videos did you watch on cntrlpaint? Even after watching it I didn't improve a lot.
I don't have any traditional background though and that must be the problem.
New watercolor (22"x15"), drawn and roughly painted irl, details added from photograph later. It was quite fun to do.

Experiments made in after effects. Don't feel the need to watch them to the end, they're mostly the same throughout.

I understand that many people want to create art that looks a certain way, but no matter how cartoonish you want you style to look there is no way around not learning real anatomy. So I'd suggest you study from the real world first then try to develop your own cartoonish style. Although some experimenting on the side won't hurt.

I know the middle guy looks weird with his mouth really far down like that, same with the right one. But that's actually what they look like in real life, they hardly have chins at all.
I have done realistic studies too, just so you know. Just sayin', it'd be nice to actually get criticism on the drawings instead of just getting some vague life advice
