Oh... What videos did you watch on cntrlpaint? Even after watching it I didn't improve a lot. I don't have any traditional background though and that must be the problem.
oh i just watched the "brush" and "color" on digital painting 101. i do a lot of traditional art though, so it was pretty easy getting the hang of it [editline]30th November 2012[/editline]
Concept image for a game project
i don't know what to look at
Watercolour is pretty difficult. That said, I didn't think much of this while I when I did it but in hindsight I quite like it. Just a quickie.
pretty little background for the skull!
looks more like concept art for some game or movie with the tower thing in the middle
well i was going to imitate this http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdbrs1kjdq1qz7t0xo1_500.jpg just to pass time, but as stated ink spilling occured
Im pretty new to drawing and wanted to just get some feedback another version with color change
New watercolor (22"x15"), drawn and roughly painted irl, details added from photograph later. It was quite fun to do.
I love your colours and lighting, very impressionist feel to it, but with a unique style.

All of the fuzzy brushwork is killing my eyes too. Maybe do a drawing with a pencil, and then some more until you're decent at that - then move to digital/colour Also that beveled signature is awful, don't do that
Alright thanks

[editline]30th November 2012[/editline] Help. [editline]30th November 2012[/editline] Anyone else has the same problem as me? I don't make any good pieces yet and that turns my painting into something hard and unentertaining, so it is turning into something like homework. Not that bad with pencil though.
Someone give me a quick idea what to do for a background. Something random with colors or something, no real background. Or should I leave it? I have to submit it for my portfolio for VCU.
First thing I've doodled since around july. I think I might actually be going backwards when it comes to progress. I should try to draw some more stuff when I have the time. [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1835520/idrawthings/face.jpg[/t]

Man, I haven't posted in a while. I forgot how stress-relieving drawing can be. I finished that one portrait. I call it "Prombie."

Meanwhile, something I did today after a month break, nevermind the light flare on paper, it killed all the darks.

babby's first landscape the hell do I do with the foreground, it looks like a turd [editline]30th November 2012[/editline] I'm sorta satisfied with how the background looks though

Tried out my tablet on the college PC's today. We're locked out of the control panel and despote my best efforts I couldn't get to Pen Tablet settings, possibly because it's part of the Wacom drivers, and I was using whatever Win7 deemed appropriate automatically, so I had to use it in mouse mode rather than screenspace, like a trackpad, which I hate. And the pressure sensitivity wasn't working. But, I got to try it with Photoshop CS6, and realised how much I was missing in GIMP. Just to test things out I decided to do pretty much my first ever "landscape" as it's been the recent flavour, although I don't know if it's fair to call it that since it has no real depth. Like I said, I was just messing around testing the tablet on Photoshop, and trying out desaturating for distance. I was surprised by how much I liked it, but when I got home I decided to try colourising it in GIMP, which took me ages and I messed with it a lot, and quickly learnt just how much I was doing wrong and loved the feeling of improving, although I'm still not really sure if I'm happy with the end result: [editline]30th November 2012[/editline] I decided I really don't like that and edited it even more :v: Also what version of Photoshop do you guys think is best? Especially for a 32 bit system with limited memory.
Has anyone here submitted stuff to Slideroom before for college applications? Should I resize the images to be bellow the restricted dimensions so they don't resize it automatically and fuck up the quality?
Was bored in class today, and drew this guy: [IMG_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7644905/2012-11-30%2023.36.06.jpg[/IMG_thumb] My first drawing in a long time, was just doodling when I thought about giving it a go (drawing a cartoony-looking character, that is), was thinking about scanning him in and giving him a better look in Photoshop, but I'm not really done with him (was thinking about added some hair, and fixing his shoes), and I don't have my scanner hooked up right now, so.
I'd eh, I'd try again rather than putting any more time into that fellow
Is there a thread similar to this but where you can post stuff that is not as good? I feel as if my work doesn't belong here because it is not as well made.
