I wish niggaupload would come back, that was the best hosting site. No compression, PNGs stayed PNGs, and a nice 20mb limit

My dropbox is packed to the bollocks with other things :/

What's a good source of photo reference for figure drawing? [editline]2nd December 2012[/editline] nwm found this http://good-times.webshots.com/album/489102209ijLqLF?start=24 [editline]2nd December 2012[/editline] Holy shit, the "figure drawin: design and invention" book is so awesome! After reading the first 5-10 pages I did a study and after a hour I moved from ugly unproportional stuff to balanced gesture drawing.
Dunno if you guys have seen them but the new hobbit posters are fucking stunning. I was inspired. http://news.mymiddleearth.com/2012/11/28/imax-offers-4-hobbit-posters-at-midnight-shows/ I'm trying to replicate the style with an older RoTK poster, here's the WIP. I got a message from a dude who's working on a fiction project asking if I'd be keen to do some illustrations. I want some practice working to a brief so I was like fo shizzle my nizzle holla Bear in mind this is a rough painting and not a final piece in any sense
perspective is pretty wonky on a lot of it. i know it's a rough painting but it's pretty noticeable.
Thanks! I was just looking at it before and saw a bunch of issues with the shallow bottom left to upper right perspective line I'll get on it when I can

And the teacher said to get good contrast between light and dark areas, now its all like the same gray. Also don't forget highlights and cast shadows on both the ground himself
The arm will be holding a lightsource, it does need more contrast.
The arm will be holding a lightsource, it does need more contrast.
Then dont forget to draw the light source, like a light bulb or something or it will look wrong,
What does it mean?
It means using many small strokes to comprise what should be a single sweeping line. The reason it's discouraged is that unless you have perfect accuracy and pressure in order to hit the same line properly and consistently, the strokes are very apparent and especially if you're using a solid black to sketch with like Crumpets did, it'll end up a jagged mess.
Almost finished! And finished: What do you guys think?
Hey guys, dunno if anyone can help me, but for my uni project i'm taking pictures of loads of pills but I need to photoshop faces onto them, trying to make it look like the face outlines are imprinted into the pill (if this makes sense) anyone got any idea how I can do that?

yeah I would have thought that much is obvious considering I said 'I need to photoshop faces onto them' it's just the actual technique im looking for more than anything
1:cut out face 2:desaturate face 3:change face's layer to overlay (seen below) (maybe change it to multiply if you can't get it to work in the end). this will cause 50% gray to not affect anything, darker than 50% to darken, lighter than 50% to lighten. Pretty simple. 4:blend the edges of the face so it isn't so harshly cut out if you haven't done so already 5:to further blend the face, hit CTRL+M to bring up the curve editor. Grab a point in the middle of the line and drag it around around until the lightness of the skin blends well with the image it's being superimposed on, without destroying the darker values an highlights. It's kinda like picking locks in a bethesda game, except you're just trying to get the skintone to be around 50% gray at its median so it blends nicely I'd make an example to double check this but I'm at work and making this would probably be a bit suspect, heh
found this really stellar pencil brush for photoshop that some of you folks may be interested in, I love it
