does anybody have any brush recommendations for GIMP? I've been using the default ones and I've been finding them pretty restricting. Or should I just get Photoshop instead?
You probably should just use PS. There are people who paint in gimp, you could try the Gimptalk forums if they're still up (they were up and down like a yoyo whenever I was there) but there'll never be the kind of community and support and custom stuff and whatever else that you'll get with photoshop. I feel a bit lonely working in Painter even - Painter has like thousand brushes with it but nobody seems to make brush packs and the like. Google it and there's results from like six painter versions ago Plus I've made a few myself, the customisation options are far more numerous in Painter than in PS but they seem to have a lot less influence. You can tweak them a bit but they're probably still recognisable as the brush you altered.
I recently saw a really cool 2001: Space odyssey painting someone on the internet did, but I couldn't find it again. So from memory I sketched up this, I want to paint this on a larger canvas but I'm really bad at choosing colors and admittatley at painting aswell. Can some one direct me with some colors to use for the suit, jupiter, the ground, and the style of the monolith? - The monolith in the painting I saw had like stars and galaxies pouring out in front of the astronaut(which was awesome), I wouldn't even know how to do that) - I'm using a HS art room's paints - Going for a dave bowman orange for the suit I'm not asking for someone to paint this for me, just lend insight on the colors I should use. can anybody tell me what the hell happened to my photoshop?
can anybody tell me what the hell happened to my photoshop?
the deer disapproves
I dig this. maybe add some bobbing in addition to the rotating/forward movement so it's a little more dynamic. right now with it not having any other movement it feels a little bit stiff. also, the legs are underwhelming compared to the rest of the design and i don't feel they fit being brighter than the rest of it.
That's probably better, I wasn't sure if bobbing would work what with how small the sprite is. I'm working on a running animation right now.
can anybody tell me what the hell happened to my photoshop?
dude move on to a new project lol you've been doing that deer for 59 years
dude move on to a new project lol you've been doing that deer for 59 years
there's nothing wrong with taking a successful old piece and rework it for a commercial product, which is what I think is going on here
dude move on to a new project lol you've been doing that deer for 59 years
I want to add to this in saying that I remember it from the very first iteration and it was best before you even put those strings with the eye on it You've been making it progressively worse over the years
way better. i think you should just leave it now. looks finished to me
This was written in February. How could you spend such a long time on a deer?
Practicing with a tablet. Because soon it will make perfect. Or so I'm told, anyway.
This was written in February. How could you spend such a long time on a deer?
Again, I think what she's doing now is just refining it for commercial use, tidying it up and whatnot She posted an image of photoshop breaking and she just happened to be working on the deer when it happened. She's not posting asking for more feedback on it; it's literally just an image that contains the deer I don't understand what the big deal is here [editline]12th December 2012[/editline] ah man I was playing around in Sculpturis using a Rembrandt painting as a reference for sculpting a face. I figured it would help heaps to get a sense of anatomy and it really helped! You're altering, by hand, the shape of a face from every angle to make it convincing, which makes a lot of sense to me as a study tool But it crashed and I lost it
Friend said draw a drug dealer, I said give me 30 min. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Z9s4O.png[/t]
Quick sketch thingy, let's see if this ever goes somewhere.
I like your faces.

As my art folder swells further
As my art folder swells further
Art folder? That's the strangest pet name I've ever heard I set my secondary monitor up with Display Fusion to loop a folder of images. I just drop a new image into that folder and it goes on the loop; constant stream of new images for new ideas!
Yes indeed Let me paint you a picture;
