I think a major thing to tackle before a billion more tiny anatomy tweak suggestions would be the dock. I know it's a little rickety by design, but the red/magenta marked tilt is buggin' me hard we've been picking this picture apart hard, sorry maya :I
Please do, that is the way we can improve. I don't care if you shred it into pieces as long as I can get something useful from it. Not taking any art class right now, I think a face punching class will be great for me xD Thanks for all the comments, guys and gals.
Anyone here ever bought a print from Deviantart? How long does the thing take to ship cause i've been waiting since the 16th lol
I know some dude from the dA Appreciation Station bought a print of some really shitty picture just for fun. I think it was a week maybe two between him announcing he bought it til we saw it?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/jfTzp.png[/t] Just warming up with some sketching before I actually start drawing stuff (working on a sheet thing). I don't know where the semi-chibi style came from, it sort-of just happened so I rolled with it. :v: Teen Deer also invaded again. I gave him a little tail because I found it hysterical. and yes, I know that I didn't draw the head or strings of the weird guitar-ish-thing. I also find this funny. I'm apparently very easily entertained. All I need to do is draw a person and animate the eyebrows.
Anything you notice to polish before I call this complete? I tried to change the highlights of the hair like suggested but it was so difficult using this technique that i gave up.
the skin texture creeps me out a bit. looks like cork [editline]22nd February 2012[/editline] and she looks like she is pushing her tongue up against her right cheek or that she has a tumour or something [editline]22nd February 2012[/editline] for fixing the skin texture, use less grunge/texture brushes to make the value transitions smoother. using those brushes to add detail is well and good but your brush size for them here is way too big - makes the pores in her skin look massive
Got a new mouse as my old one just died Logitech G700. Love the hyper scroll and dpi switch.

But thanks I might do it tomorrow :)
' what does this has do do with this thread or anything in the cc?
Don't you see? (I amplified the effects slightly so that they were more visible) He's/She's going for a Daily Deviation!! [editline]February 22 2012[/editline] Maya I love the sparkles but you went a bit overboard. The rainbow is totally kawaii though.
' what does this has do do with this thread or anything in the cc?
because it is maya and we are the people she enjoys talking with? is there enough idle banter in this section to warrant an offtopic thread? I thought we had one before but I'm not seein' it right now
does he use the mouse for drawing?

[editline]22nd February 2012[/editline]
does he use the mouse for drawing?
For the sky and the sea, yes. For character, I use tablet. I find mouse to be easier for cloud and foam. DPI switch on the new the mouse works great for this btw. I used to use pen tool and selection tool before I got a tablet to draw lol
Learning to use vectors and such. Im really new to digital media so please be nice :v:

Apologies for the very shoddy phone picture, but I'm proud of this one so I'll post it regardless. We had to reproduce a food photo from a magazine with colored pencil. I don't have a copy of the photo but I did a pretty good job, I think! [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2319552/Photo%20Feb%2022%2C%2010%2003%2009%20AM.jpg[/t] There's not really anything to critique, but I'm happy with it so I'll leave it here.
that's interesting
I've learned to do pretty much everything with the pen tool. Can't do squat with the Brush tool and that's the one thing I want to improve upon. In the meanwhile have some vector work I've done for school.
ye I started out with a mouse too.

You haven't quite captured her likeness, but that takes a lot of practice. You're on the right track concerning those. I think what you've got to work on is a lot of technique and rendering practice. The light green aura around her is odd, and I'm liking the background behind that much more. Um... did you happen to trace the image over a picture? The background prettymuch looks like a background does on a camera and seems real. It's a big quality disparity.
panel from the latest RA comic im making which is going up TODAY and im not even done oh god :((
NO!! SPOILERS!! MY EYES! (btw Detlef really good art as always)
teen deer hell edition
[t]http://i.imgur.com/b7e5W.png[/t] Any glaring issues? It seems a little flat to me, but I'm still trying to figure out shading, and I'm not sure how to improve it.

Hmmm.

I love the vegetables.
