Finished it [t]http://i.imgur.com/UmMxk.jpg[/t] I'm feeling for doing a Christopher Walken later on today.
That's really inspiring. I haven't done a real drawing in a long time, I think I'll try something like this as well soon.
that is because he is smirking
Even though he's smirking, AND his face is on an angle, that lip dent whatever the fuck you call it, is STILL very straight. that is the problem with chesty's sketch
Finally tried out my new in-car SLR mount.
Art project -> George Lucas Pic on the right is the reference image. Didn't turn out too bad, I think I deserved an A. On a side note, I did him some honor of slimming out his face a little.
Quick note why I drew this, my ex girlfriend broke up with me, now came back and apologized etc etc. her best friend though, fell in love with me, but I have no feelings for her, I just want my ex back... Now she thinks it would be better if I go with her best friend even though she still has feelings for me, but just wants to see her happy... whatever, here's the pic. I swear I've been waiting at least a week for Adobe to send me my Serial Key. Two days is not the same as six.
She actually suggested you date her best friend? Say what you will, your ex has some serious balls to suggest that. Big effort on her part - it's gonna be very hard for her to deal with seeing you two together.

Also you really didn't pay any attention to detail and it looks as though his face is really smooth. The head's a bit too long and the glasses are circles then the shape they look like in the reference.

We had this really awesome model for todays class.. thought I'd share some of the sketches with you

You seem to be generalizing everything.

How come you get fit ladies, and I get middle-aged exhibitionists? [editline]6th March 2012[/editline] I'm starting to get a little itty bit better at this figure drawing stuff. I'm still no pro at it, but I can see the difference from my first day in class. Sometimes I get a little bit disheartened, though, because my professor's criticism only involves pointing out the bad. I don't need constant validation or anything, but maybe just a "hey, you really nailed the form this time," or an occasionial "good job with the value range on this one," would definitely be nice!
How come you get fit ladies, and I get middle-aged exhibitionists?
What year are you in? In my school we start off with older and less attractive people, and when you get into more advanced courses, like this class is advanced clothed figure drawing 3.. They'll start bringing in higher tier models.
[editline]6th March 2012[/editline] I'm starting to get a little itty bit better at this figure drawing stuff. It's something you'll get used to, and just think of it like this, if he doesn't mention anything bad about something in your art, then that thing is probably well done and you should take it as a compliment.
erections while he's modeling.
Haha I've had something a bit worse than this before -> http://www.facepunch.com/threads/831864
I really think teachers, and mostly everyone who gives serious critiques should find something they like about the piece, it gives the artist motivation to move on. [editline]6th March 2012[/editline] oh god lazylion, thats a fucking horror story right there
Haha I've had something a bit worse than this before -> http://www.facepunch.com/threads/831864
Remember that thread. Good old times.
Jesus fuck that is an awful story I don't even understand how he would do that Fucking gross [editline]6th March 2012[/editline]
The bottom part of the spear is in front of him, but the upper part of it definitely isn't. If you want to have it in front of him you need to skew his arm inwards to the ocean, not outwards to the background. More like this: [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3655193/NoxStrandedPirateArm2.jpg[/t]
Oh god you made it worse and worse
more contrast
Oh god you made it worse and worse
I drew in the hand as an example on what needed to be changed, not how it should look.
I decided to finally make myself paint some clouds. I used a photo as a reference that I had in my picture folder.

I have nude drawing every tus/thurs for 3 hours and we have had a couple repeats but so far we have only had one guy and probably 5 different girls. All of the girls being under 30 and 2 of them being extraordinarily attractive.
Here's a logo type deal I just did for some fun. In another thread someone mentioned they wanted a cleaver in their logo and this just popped into my head. Didn't actually make it for someone. It's still really rough though and I need to fix the triangles so they're better organized and more even. This was really just to get the idea down and to see how it would look.
I have never seen a butcher's knife with a teethed blade. Also, you would think the triangles should be aligned to the edge. Crudely demonstrated with the mouse here:

Crudely demonstrated with the mouse here:
I know they need to be aligned better but they're not teeth. They're just there to imply the edge of the blade like this
You don't even need to make them into teeth. It'd just most likely look a lot better if they were aligned along the blade edge.
Those triangles reminds me of clipart.
I'm doing these non-aliased lines way too much :I
