Your shading is really aimless and messy right now. Plus a lot of elements of the drawing itself are ambiguous - seems like you don't have any details in mind to fill out certain spots so you shade randomly just to have them filled in. Maybe try to draw some less complicated stuff. Give yourself a chance to understand shape and shadow better. some hanging cloth studies wouldn't go amiss either, you might pick up an idea of how to draw folds in clothing.
Wow you are actually helpful. Unlike some people cough cough [sp]detlef[/sp]
Alot of awesome tips.
Thank you a lot! :downs:
its autodesk sketchbook i think. truly a terrible program its like ms paint but with layers
What no that's Artrage
It's a hill going upward.
Naw, the viewpoint for the road is at a downward angle, from way above eye level, but then the perspective flattens out when it hits the house/river and so on, so the horizon is too low to accommodate the road at that size.
its autodesk sketchbook i think. truly a terrible program its like ms paint but with layers
Ahaha I've never used it but I was under the impression Sketchbook was a good program for designers and the like I believe you though, if that really is the UI for it
ok well people obviously disagree with me but i personally see no reason why you'd use it. its got a sparse set of tools and theres way better programs out there for digital art. its free for students though, thats a plus but then again a lot of people have photoshop and didnt pay for it so you know
Just bought Paint Tool Sai it's sweet
Not 100% sure if this fits here. I'm really into making visual art with Source, so I've begun making videos.

Like the name implies, it's just a sketchbook basically (or at least how I use it). I wouldn't pay money for it personally but it serves its purpose.

That bit of grunge or whatever in the bottom left corner really draws my eye
I have to make some text graffiti textures for my map but I can't find a way to make them. http://graffiti.playdo.com/ I love this java game is there a way to save the brush, save the image or make the brush in paint.net? It's the only realistic looking brush I seem to find.

What programs do you recommend besides PS? Sketchbook Pro seems very good but as implied is only for sketching.
What programs do you recommend besides PS? Sketchbook Pro seems very good but as implied is only for sketching.
I like Corel Painter Essentials [editline]18th March 2012[/editline]
Paint Tool Sai
And this
The only thing I don't like about Paint Tool Sai is a variety of brushes for creating texture quickly
Because 2AM Never understood what the jut on the side of the face was suppose to be.
hot
Just starting to learn atm, criticism very welcome!
Perspective/anatomy looks off around his neck and chest, more specifically his head appears to be in more or less perfect profile, while his chest is skewed to like a 3/4 view. Likewise his ears and the tendons in his neck align to the 3/4, but his neck itself is as seen in profile, so it looks like the de facto centreline hits the chest way off to his right. And for some general advice for people who want to draw cartoons or manga or anything that requires continuous stylised figurative drawing, learn realism and proper human proportions first. The more knowledge and experience you have under your belt, the better you'll be able to simply your drawings into your own style.

Nyan monster aka quick fun with the brushes
bit difficult to read. i like the head and mouth but the legs and arms are all merging into each other and i can't work out if the raised bit is a tail or an arm because there isn't much sense of depth
Well, yeah, I see it. Honestly, I was going to throw this piece in and forget about it forever, but now I want to finish it somewhy. So thank you, I'll try to add some volume in it.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/6R5Ts.jpg[/img_thumb] Please critic it, especially the coloring. Using Paint tool Sai. Also is it ok to post things like this?
