If I were to upload something I'd written that's a few pages long, would anyone read it, and how would I share it without pasting the whole text here?
If no one's going to read it, then that second question doesn't matter of course.

I'd probably read, and you could put it on pastebin and link it here.
Please tell me you didnt just do outlines and then fill it in; regardless of whether you're doing silhouettes or normal sketches you need to do a lot of lines and markings for the anatomy in order to get it right, then fill it in with colour later. That said it looks reasonable, but you messed up a little on the torso it seems. The pose looks a little unusual on the right I have to say.
i used a pretty thick brush and stuff
It's worth a shot but from experience, literature isn't often read in CC

Solid job with the rendering, but frankly the straight-on composition and dull facial expression (similar to some of the other things you've posted) is a little tiring.
To contribute something of my own, here's this still life I'm working on. Just the background and floor shadows need to be added in.

Btw, the iPhone HDR feature that was added in makes my artwork snaps look hella better. Pleasant surprise!
I too, have some conceptual work.
This is some sort of Sci-Fi building.

I like this, I think you should render the monster a bit more though. Vague bulky shapes are great for the imagination to play with, but the whole face/mouth area is well-lit and it's a bit of a mess, takes away from the overall impression imo

I think its more of a concept for the atmosphere of the game rather than a concept for an actual creature.

just a little detailing can make the whole image pop. five minutes of tiny specular highlights, a little smoothing to fake-render some shapes, and adding implied detail to otherwise unrefined things (like the scope on the gun or whatever that glowy bit is). a little bit of sharp detail can make a whole world of difference

Could need a lot of work fixing up and rendering everything properly.
But I really dig the concept, look and atmosphere to it, so it absolutely does justice as is.
This is pretty damn cool, I'll buy one if it gets enough votes or whatever they do there
would need like +100. Not many people vote though
it's good except the print is quite a lot smaller in reality
not at all, if this actually wins I can tell them to make it that big. They do oversized prints and thats probably what DBH is all about
I'm thinking of setting up a shop at society6 or something, rather than have them in these contests and stuff though. Gotta see if they do shirts well

Did you make that planet surface from scratch? It looks really nice.
Personally i think the green line of thrust from the spaceship kind of takes away from the image. Maybe just change it to a glow of blue around the thrusters? (Then again, blue seems like a bit of a cliche thrust color...fuck it, what do i know?)
But nice work sir.

When I first glimpsed at it I had no idea what was going on. Then I looked closer and was blown away.
Très cool.
