HOLY SHIT So many files unsaved, save them now. Oh god.
Yea I have the paranoid habit of saving after any major progress on a piece, and it has saved my work so many times when the power has cut or some other shit happens.
what kinda wacky program is that why dont u use ps
I just ctrl + s every couple of seconds. At least 8000 times per painting.
what kinda wacky program is that why dont u use ps
The same reason you use flash, it is just preference.
The same reason you use flash, it is just preference.
Flash for drawing...? Why?
I'm going to try some portraiture for basically the first time. Any tips or useful things?
I'm going to try some portraiture for basically the first time. Any tips or useful things?
draw yourself from mirror
draw yourself from mirror
Yeah that's what I was planning to do several times before I went to anyone else
Flash for drawing...? Why?
for vectors
for vectors
I'm pretty sure Adobe has their own program for vectors.
I'm pretty sure Adobe has their own program for vectors.
Which is the point he was making. People have different preferences.
I'm pretty sure Adobe has their own program for vectors.
They do but it is more awkward to use than Flash for some things so a lot of people prefer it.
what kinda wacky program is that why dont u use ps
because godmode that one function alone makes me feel so much more in control of everything, even though I keep it on a subtle setting. The tools and control settings were hard to pick up at first, but as I've figured out how to customize stuff I've managed to recreate how photoshop's brushes worked, then slowly worked into all the settings from there and gotten used to its own workflow. At this point I can barely navigate around photoshop because I'm used to the sleek and easy keyboard functions like brush size dragging with CTRL+ALT, or the entire ins/del/home/end/pg up/pg dn key set being quick rotation and zoom control. the program itself is bugtacular in the english fan-release, mostly problems with using tablet pen functions locking up your ability to interact with anything outside of the program, but that's easily un-stickable. There's no official mac release, and the only fan-version for mac out there doesn't support pen pressure because 'wine' doesn't support some process or something. I dunno. [editline]d[/editline] OH and vectors linework layers with a custom toolset (picture from this crazy illustrator) on the other end, there's a handful of things it doesn't do that I wish it should. There's no curve editor or fancy layer fx or any filters. Just a hue/sat/lum editor, and brightness/contrast/color boost (viv, not sat). However it can save out .psd files if there's something you really gotta do. [editline]e[/editline] wow fuck I just looked at the two versions of the character side by side did I seriously draw that first one it looks retarded how
I'm still working on that battleship with the other one blowing up in the background, and I've fallen out of the habit of checking the thread so much that I didn't see the critique about the smoke until just now. In any case, I was reading about James Cameron descending into the Marianas Trench, and this composition just flashed into my mind. Bout an hour, still a work in progress.
reminds me of aquanox
So does anyone have any tips or guides on how to draw hands? I always mess up the proportions so I try to avoid drawing hands.
This one's pretty good. [t]http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/329/b/e/hand_tutorial__tips_reference__by_qinni-d33lcb1.jpg[/t]
as soon as i saw 117 new posts on this thread i got myself a beer because i just knew it was gonna be good.
So, Obviously none of you will remember me as i only posted here once like 5 months ago or somehting, but I've improved a lot, but I've reached a rough spot. How do i make the rocks not look so... just bad? I know this isn't at all the type of art most people here do, but even if you have something to suggest to make the picture better, I'd really appreciate it. Give me a few reasons why this is terrible 50%-ish done, maybe less depending on how much I find is bad with it
everything in the background is blurred and unclear except for the thundercloud, making it look like it's in front of her- about to fire a bolt into her nose
everything in the background is blurred and unclear except for the thundercloud, making it look like it's in front of her- about to fire a bolt into her nose
The rain is distorting the view because there's glass there. that's what rain does.
yes i know and im not saying that's a bad thing (sorry if it sounded that way) [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] it's how the cloud w/ lightning isn't affected by that at all that's bad
Aye, noted. It's the most recent thing I added, think I'll do a lot more to it before I distort it to shit though. Background's in reality a very quick sketch of Illium from Mass Effect I made while watching the Colbert Report
i would set her eyes a bit deeper into her head
i would set her eyes a bit deeper into her head
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44722719/LR6.jpg vs. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44722719/LR7.jpg Ignore the other improvements on the second pic, focus on the eye. Improvement?
Just some quick spritework, but the second animated gif of said spritework I ever made. The first would be to the left.
The colors look nice, but you should add some shading on the gray bits. Also, maybe make the elbows bend forward a bit more on the upswing.
