Everything you do is recorded? Disable Wifi, kill all processes, hunt for any unwanted programs, delete them, then do whatever the hell you want.
k nobody cares
What he said.
Linux would also confuse the fuck out of everyone that got one of the laptops.
Edubuntu?
I'd say "Fuck You" to the Principal if I were you, and do whatever you want with them.
I know it's harsh but you should kill yourself now because if you rage because you get a $1300 laptop instead of a $500 pretty much for free, i can safely say your life is going to be full of disappointments and rage
As radioactive said, it's for school work you dumbass. They give you a laptop and you complain about, go sit in the corner you ungrateful son of a bitch
We get computers in my school too. For free... (Sweden yäy!)
They use XP as their OS, and the specs are decent (Lifebook-series-something).
We aren't allowed to install anything at all either, and the Technics at the school do anything in their power to stop us from doing so.
At the same rate, the students try to bypass the security systems, so it has turned into a somewhat amusing struggles. Technincs vs. Students. So far it's an even race. :3
OP is a whiny bastard who needs to shut his face.
Honestly, you're complaining about a nearly-free $1,300 laptop?
Reminds me of the time my mum got a laptop for £12 and it was fucking good, could run TF2 on high [sp]I left the window open and it got stolen :buddy:[/sp]
Also, I totally understand why the school went with macs. People somehow tend to get viruses on their windows pcs and everything never works, so, yeah. Macs, less viruses.
Wrong. Windows is as secure as Linux, and OSX is awful.
Ever heard of the Pwn2Own contest? Apple always fails first then Win/Linux fail on the last day.
1) Windows has a fuckton of viruses because of its marketshare and non-tech-savvy userbase.
2) Linux doesn't have magical GNU fairies protecting the kernel.
The school should have went with Linux, really...
Haha, I changed the theme of my teacher's computer to Olive Green once.
She came in, took one look and went OH MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK THE COMPUTER IS BROKEN OH FUCK HELP ME GOD SHITTTTFFFFFF
One of my teachers once said that changing the wallpaper was a serious, unallowed configuration change. :downs:

Ok, you're an idiot too, who else wants to be on my list of idiots to stay away from?
Edit:Also, 1st post of the 5th page! :downs:
What I got from this thread:
Whiny little kid says, "Bawww my school gave me a MacBook Pro for $40! I hate Apple! Windows is soo much better!"
Facepunch says, "You are a whiny little kid who should be grateful about getting a laptop for ass cheap, but instead you are deciding to whine like a little bitch."
I agree with Facepunch.
Yeah, I understand the fact that they're school laptops. What I don't understand is why they just didn't get Windows PC's, and why we can't do anything on them.
They most likely chose Apple-supplied computers because Apple provides learning sessions for teachers/students on how to utilize the computers (so your educational facility can make sure every student knows how to take advantage of the computers and the money does not go to waste).
You can't do "anything" on them because they were purchased for educational purposes only. The school wants to make sure that the computers they bought for you are used for educatioal progression, not entertainment. It's a fairly obvious reason why they chose to limit access.
You should be grateful you received such an expensive laptop to use specifically for homework. Not many students are able to get a personal computer for their work. Many can't even afford proper text books.
Edit:
You're 13? Many college students I know don't even have access to a computer. I'm astonished as to why you're even mad.
Also, I happen to be typing this on a computer which is a $1,300 MacBook Pro that I worked my ass off to afford. I had to pay every last cent for this computer. Maybe once you get into the later years of your education, you'll appreciate what you have. You'll realize you won't even have time to play games, and you'll end up using a computer for mainly school stuff anyways.
OP: Until about a year ago, many of my school's computers were running Windows 98.
Half of them still have 800MHz Celerons.
Every student at your school is getting their own notebook.
Many of the students at my school don't even own computers.
You should consider yourself incredibly lucky, but you're acting like a spoiled brat.

Hell our school district still has 800mhz powerPCs. Nonetheless every high school student seems to have a super-high technology cellphone.
Sure is
Jesus just be happy that you have a laptop to use for school you spoiled brat.
Most of us have to use paper and pens, and even then we're still lucky to even have school.
lol macks are gay i feal sorry for u
ps school suckes
OP is probably butt hurt from all the replies
Looking at the replies that say "Delete whatever's tracking you" I have a little bit of personal experience on that note.
In my old keyboarding class in High School (not wasted, I type around 80 WPM now), our teacher had a system that let her look at all of our desktops and she usually kept a good watch. At any point, if we were goofing off, she could hijack our computer and close out the applications we were using. If she couldn't, she would verbally spam "get rid of it" till we closed it.
