look to the east, from europe, or america?
the earth is round, you know.
I would guess both since the Earth also rotates, so when it's a certain time of night in the different timezones it would be in the same direction.
Only 1 more hour i think till 00:00 GMT+2

If you do not know what it is, these meteors are caused by grains of debris from an asteroid, no bigger than a grain of sand, entering the Earth's atmosphere in high speeds, burning up into super hot temperatures therefore causing big streaks of light around it.
But the Geminids meteor are unique, even though how small the object is, it could cause a fireball up to a feet diameter. The Geminids also are believed to be caused by Asteroids unlike other showers which is caused by debris clouds.

well I guess that's it
we're all going to die
I'm in London. And it's cloudy. Double failure. Caught the Perseid meteor shower last year though. That was pretty cool.
Well, you heard it forks, the night of 13th and 14th December will be the peak night for the Geminids meteor shower.

Same... (Ireland)
Time to hit the ol' chair outside!
Clouds ARGH!
Hnnnnggg, it's raining outside. Damn and I'd have a really nice view of the sky any other night of the year.
:frown:
too bad my county is covered in MOTHER FUCKING CLOUDS
fuck yeah page king
So how often should it come down? Like, will you see a shooting star every 5 minutes, 10 minutes?
Under a nice high pressure weather system in SW England and have beautifully clear skies. Went outside for about 15 minutes and saw about 10 shooting stars.
At peak I reckon we'll be getting a shooting star every 1-2 minutes, although that may be a bit optimistic.
Goddammit, its raining
Here a link to the stream of it, but not here yet.

As of 1:16 West Midlands has cleared up, clouds gone sky looks amazing, just saw about 5 streaks of light, really amazing worth getting cold fingers for.
I saw one while driving home from work...Sort of startled me tbh.
I saw jack shit.
Was outside in the cold and harsh norway weather for about 2 hours. Saw like 4 or 5 of them. Was disappointed.
saw 14, camera none
Damn you clouds....I have always wanted to test the long exposure capabilities of my camera on these things.
Wow, I've just been lying on my trampoline for the past few hours (GMT+10) and I've been seeing about one every minute or two on average. Most of them were pretty clear but there's one that stood out by far. It was incredibly bright and lasted about four seconds. I didn't think I'd be able to see any from here!
