ASMR aka. Those Tingles You Get When You Watch Certain Videos
140 replies, posted
All of OP's videos made me cringe in an angry sort of way, I have no idea why but I couldn't even watch all of any one video

do I have the opposite or something
Liquid Drum and bass music triggers it for me, specifically this song:

this one, even more so:

Tip: listen for the drop, and expect it to be incredibely good for it to work.
Watching any of the Halo release/teaser videos does this to me.
can anyone suggest some how-to videos with the host having a soft speaking voice?
the old guy with the iced tea isn't doing me any favours. I usually get ASMR from people telling me things in a soft spoken voice, mind you it doesn't need to be monotone, but not like Phillip defranco loud.
WhisperCrystal has some great head-tingle inducing videos, she's definitely my favourite ASMR inducing Youtuber. When I can't sleep I whack on a good pair of headphones, get comfortable in bed and just melt into my mattress listening to her videos. Her voice is like absolutely beautiful.
The only thing that's ever been able to set this off for me are certain Binaural videos, like the virtual barbershop.

I get this from ambient music;

especially from Aphex twin's ambient works vol. 2.
I'm jealous of all you people that have positive reactions to things like this.
I'm short of breath after watching a video and you guys are getting braingasms.
Note: This is similar but different to the shivery feeling you can get when listening to an emotional/powerful/beautiful piece of music.
It's annoying how everybody keeps mistaking ASMR and frission.
All these "epic" songs are NOT ASMR, stop posting them already.

I get the same effect from the videos in the op, so yeah, I get ASMR when listening to ambient.
I've never experienced this. Frission yes, ASMR nope. Does it basically feel the same?

No, not really.
Don't mean to bump an aged thread but I didn't know that it was an actual thing! This amazes me. I just thought I was weird haha.
Sucks that I can't feel this. :v:

I get this but it starts in the back of my throat rather than my brain.
My triggers are songs in disney movies.
I don't even know why.
I get ASMR from these.

This one's not only a trigger, but also good as a sleeping aid.

game trailers or music frissons are different to ASMRs quite a bit. its still a pleasant sensation but ASMR is better.
I get something close from listening to white noise (blue or purple noise have done me good too) which i now use to put me to sleep
VeniVidiVulpes is a popular ASMRtist.
I'm like that with haircuts and stero channeled music on headphones. Whenever i get a sound in my right ear that also isn't in my left ear i get this very VERY uncomfortable feeling in my lower back. . .
Sometimes ASMR triggers can cause a negative reaction I think, like someone is jamming their thumb into your lower back. I usually get the ASMR tingles, but if the trigger is too "powerful" or only heard by one ear it'll make me want to squirm as if I just became very ticklish but with a bit of pain. I've found that applying pressure to the affected area usually remedies this.
RelaxingASMR is a pretty excellent ASMartist. I like that term.

I've got a bunch of these that I've been watching recently;

And I've been meaning to take a crack and doing a whisper video myself. Finally got around to it today.

Ulillillia's videos do it for me.
His voice is so soothing:

I do not understand how anybody takes pleasure in listening to this. It is absolutely bizarre to me.

this song man. Pretty much the entire KH2 soundtrack give me this feeling, actual ASMR, not frission.
[sp]This song also makes me choke up a bit, no other song does that[/sp]
