Second trailer is just fucking...aaah. Can't wait. Also, what's with God's Gonna Cut You Down being played in a ton of commercials recently? I've heard it in at least three or four.
My dad went to college with the Coen brothers
Hmm...the original movie has Justin Bieber in it...
movies gonna be fucking sick. coens can do no wrong (the ladykillers? whats that?) [editline]07:44PM[/editline] also: 2:01: BEAR IS DRIVING

This is gonna be beautiful.
Reviews are now starting to come in for those that are interested. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/true-grit-2010/
I am so goddamn hyped for this
For some reason this is my first time hearing about this. Loved No Country For Old Men so I'll have to look into this.
This movie is opening tomorrow. So far the reviews have been fantastic. Can't wait to see it.
Being released on my b-day here in Norway :D
I can't wait to see this...
I'm planning on seeing this tomorrow(hopefully).
Will be seeing this in a few hours. Can't wait.
Saw this last friday, at home. Yay for Writer's Guild of America screeners.
The only downside I can see in this film is that Matt Damon is in it but oh well
And why is that? I sincerely hope you're not one of those retards who despite never having seen a Matt Damon role, just start hating on him because of a skit in Team America, which to be honest, wasn't even that funny or relevant. He's a very versatile actor and isn't egotistical or self important.
I seen it. It was pretty good. Jeff Bridges was fantastic, and played his character extremely well. Matt Damon was actually good too. It was nice to see him in this role, the last three films of his I have seen were Green Zone and some of the Bourne ones. The actress who played Mattie was great too. She fit the bill as the smart, spunky little girl. Wasn't annoying, a la Dakota Fanning in War of the Worlds. In all, I thought it was good. It was slow in some parts, and the ending seemed a little bit rushed(which seemed to me to be sort of uncharacteristic for the Coen brothers, but eh...), but overall I liked it a lot.
Makes me sad for John Wayne. :saddowns:
my mom saw this as a kid while my grandparents went gambling, she said its a great back then and its a great movie now.
The original true grit is on TV where I am, shits intense
I just came back from this. Jeff Bridges does the role almost better than the Duke himself.
On Rotten Tomatoes, it's at a 96%, beating out Black Swan's 88%. Wow, amazing way to end the year, 'eh '010?
I have decided to see this tomorrow instead of Tron, mostly because Tron is not being shown in 2D around here and I hate 3D.
honestly i liked the original better but it was still really good
Oh shit I want to see this so much. Looks kind of like Unforgiven, in the sort of basic plot. [editline]24th December 2010[/editline] But also, if John Wayne is who I think he is, I'm definitely not seeing the original.
I enjoyed this one more than the original anyway. The comedic relief in this is just too funny.
Saw it last night, it was really good although as far as Coen movies go, it was a little predictable story wise. It wasn't exactly what I expected in tone though, I assumed it was going to be a dead serious story of revenge but it turned out to have a lot of that quirky Coen dark humour. It mostly follows the little girl and in a way its a coming of age story about her, she makes for a very likable protagonist. Very headstrong. The Dude as Rooster was suitably grizzled and badass. Matt Damon as La Beef (intentionally spelled wrong) was at first glance not likable but eventually grows on you. Brolin and Pepper as Cheney and Lucky Ned were perfectly cast. Also, I cried when [sp]the horse died.[/sp]
Great movie, a lot funnier than I expected. Jeff Bridges is a great actor.
