And why is that?
I sincerely hope you're not one of those retards who despite never having seen a Matt Damon role, just start hating on him because of a skit in Team America, which to be honest, wasn't even that funny or relevant.
He's a very versatile actor and isn't egotistical or self important.
It's just that my prejudice is mainly "oh matt damon, the actor who never really offers any different kind of acting and is only.. there. He's not very good." or something. I have yet to see a role which he played great in. (but actually I liked him in The Departed)
It's just a bollocks-opinion really. I have chosen to dislike Matt Damon for no apparent reason really

He's just typical you know. Not an actor I would care much for
I thought the movie was funny, but really slow. I think it was casted well that is for sure, but whoever was in the editing department really screwed up. I felt like some scenes were not even needed. The Doctor who wears the bear skin, the midget, and etc.
Man I want to see this so much but it's cold and I don't want to leave my house or pay money or move.
It was a very quality movie, but way too slow in some parts (the beginning..). Maybe it was just my theater, but I couldn't understand what some of the actors were saying.

The doctor was important because it let us know [sp]he was living out there. This info is important for the end of the movie[/sp]. Also it gave a nice little comedic relief after the tension build-up of them waiting there.
I was surprised this got a PG-13 rating, especially after the [sp]cabin scene[/sp]. The violence there was on par of an R rated movie in my opinion.
How was Barry Pepper in this? He's always so underappreciated, even though he always gives one of the best performances.
It's a Coen movie with Jeff Bridges, anyone who decides not to see this is making one hell of a mistake, one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.
have to wait till the 26th of january for this
ff
The movie seemed REALLY short.
However, it was a great movie nonetheless.
Although the last ~10minutes wasn't to my liking, I enjoyed the rest of the movie.
Saw it Christmas day. It was easily one of the best films this year. Jeff Bridges was awesome, as usual.
Looks great I'm going to see it tonight :D
the girl and jeff bridges deserve awards, they were amazing
has anyone read the book?
I can't believe I have to wait until February for this.
It's extremely well done but it didn't make me want to like it until about the last 20-30 minutes. The portrayal (combined with the treatment of) the bad guys was surprising and actually quite unique.
I never really liked the stereotypical american western (to be concise, I hate american westerns), which seems to be what this movie draws from to an extent.
Saw this today. Really, really good movie but I didn't like it until they set off to find Cheney

god I cringed when the guy [sp]cut off the other guy's fingers[/sp].
Fucking Iceland! I have no idea when this film will be released here :frown:
You are not LaBoeuf.
I was a bit underwhelmed but still enjoyed Bridges as a perfectly hilarious drunken cowboy.
Great movie but the like the last 30 minutes just seems to happen really fast and I dunno how much I cared for the final confrontation scene.
Still an awesome movie regardless.

Good movie but the end was a tear jerker.
Then again I expected it
I fucking hate the Coens. And I never thought that would happen.
How and why did they remake True Grit?
What's next? High Plains Drifter? Unforgiven? Surely not The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly?
Hollywood and it's remakes...

what the fuck are you doing
They made True Grit because they wanted it to be truer to the book than the original, you really think the Coens set out to milk an old franchise and make money?

You have obviously not seen this movie. Even if you dislike it you would have to understand that it was well made and at least TRYING to fit the book itself.
Saw it today, pretty good.
Also anyone that says some scenes were unnecesary needs to watch Fargo.

The Coens like to put in atmosphere scenes in their movie which do not advance the plot. That's one of my favorite thing about their movies.

The fuck? Personally, I love John Wayne and westerns but I think the Coens did a better True Grit. It was more faithful. Read the novel.

True Dat.
I loved the part where he kept kicking the Indian kid off the porch of the trading post.
