making this thread
Racism doesn't only apply to blacks.
Racism doesn't only apply to blacks.
yes it does you're stupid for thinking that
way i see it, black, white, gipsy, WHATEVER, bad people are bad people, independently of race.
I feel so left out of this shitstorm since I'm mexican :frown:
Racism is more or less dead. Anyone who still screams racist is a dumbfuck.
Maybe you haven't been exposed to any yet.
will someone explain to me how TH89 is still a super moderator even after being banned twice now by Garry for doing stupid things
Agreed. The asshole bans people for bullshit then causes a shit storm and abuses his admin power. Yet, he remains Mod. :iiam:
Racism - A belief that one race is superior to another. Stereotype - A commonly held public belief about specific social groups or types of individuals. Racial Stereotype - A commonly held public belief about a specific race. Prejudice - An assumption made about someone or something before having adequate knowledge to be able to do so with guaranteed accuracy. Racial Prejudice - An assumption made about a race before having adequate knowledge to be able to do so with guaranteed accuracy. When I say that black people love watermelons, I haven't indicated in any way that one race is superior to another. (This in particular was a personal experience, I was banned for racism for posting a picture related to this racial stereotype.) Even more negative racial stereotypes are not necessarily racist. To review, "nerds wear glasses" is a regular stereotype, because it could encompass many races. "Blacks wear glasses" is a racial stereotype, because it applies to a race, me saying so does not necessarily make me racist, I could very well think that races are equal to blacks despite the stereotype or prejudice idea. The best way to describe what prejudice is is by saying that they are false stereotypes. Most accusations of racism are over-presumptuous. For example, and this is somewhat pulled from OP, blaming illegal aliens for our economic problems does not link to racism, because the problem is not so much for them being Mexican, but them being an illegal immigrant who don't pay taxes. So, enough with the "politically correct" bullshit these civil right activists have been relentlessly pounding into your head. Learn the the differences of each definition. To the admin who banned me a couple weeks ago for "racism", go jam your head up your hyper-sensitive ass, I am right and you were in the wrong. Forgive my mediocre flaming, but it is true and it should not undermine the effort I put into this post.
Black people are funny.
Black people will get paid a lot more for higher up jobs because companies get some kind of benefit for diversity. A black woman would have a lot better shot at getting a job in lets say electrical engineering and will get a lot better pay than a white man. Her credentials matter less. I would argue that this isn't racism on the employer's side, it is rather companies trying to diversify their work force and trying to get certain kinds of benefits. This can also hold true with college applications, a black person applying to a mostly white school will have a much better chance at getting in because schools aim for diversity. Darn, I'm trying to find some sources to back this up but can't quite find them. I read some articles a few years about about this in one of my classes because we were going over this kind of stuff. I can find some stuff about increased chance of getting hired, but nothing about more pay so I could be mistaken about that statistic.
facepunch civil war stage II

Affirmative action does take jobs away from more qualified white applicants on occasion but when you look at the overall picture minorities are still underrepresented in employment, university, and pay.
oh look, he's banned again  [editline]01:37AM[/editline] i'm probably a bit late
He's being banned for being a shit moderator, just demod him already. No need to permaban him or anything.
He's being banned for being a shit moderator, just demod him already. No need to permaban him or anything.
Stick him back with the blues. Permablue.
TH89 is not doing very good in keeping the nearly invisible sliver of "MOD CRED" he has.
when his ban is up, he will probably come and ban us all for mod sass.
Black people are funny.
Stick him back with the blues. Permablue.
The script runs automatically, you can't permablue someone.
Stick him back with the reds. Permared.
Fix'd
You know, racism is everywhere. I, like many others, discriminate against other races for sometimes completely arbitrary reasons. I don't like blacks because a large percent of the ones I've seen and met do follow their blatant stereotypes. I've seen many black students at my school take advantage of scholarships and almost every one of them has gotten expelled for extremely poor performance and every time it happens the school has to screw with the parents because they think we're racist. If we are, so be it, but their kid is either an idiot or a complete buffoon, neither of which is relevant to a high-class classroom scenario. I don't think I could associate myself with that kind of person. That being only one example it can't shed much light but I believe there are many others that others can even share. Racism is everywhere and it probably will never go away because people are stubborn. Fighting about it is just going to drag more attention to it.
Why am I not surprised to see a thread like this? To be honest, everyone is a bit racist no matter who you are or what you think, and thats a fact. People today honestly take what is said about them or their race and color too seriously. People are going to crack jokes about other races, I mean this forum is a UK forum and I occasionally see a thread or post here and there of America being dumped on. Do I care? No honestly I don't. Why should I be effected when someone calls Americans fat McDonald eating bastards? I weigh 135 pounds and don't eat fast food, So why should I get upset. Same thing works for skin color. If I crack a joke about a Asian or black guy in general, how does it effect them? It doesn't. I mean I have had black people call me cracker, I mean honestly why the hell should i care? Now I don't agree to people hurting others for differences in race physically because thats just dumb. We're all living breathing humans and there is no reason to do that to another person. Jokes and assumptions about races and colors are going to be made, but why should we honestly care? Unless someone specifically targets you and verbally puts you down, now thats a whole different story. Thats my two cents.
Listen to this magnificent bastard, he knows his shit.
Racism brings us close together. :3:
Gay Black Pride!!!
For Christians and Muslims who believe in God and Jesus or whatever, life originated with Adam and Eve so we're all white to some degree.
I don't think the bible mentions their skin-color.
I don't think the bible mentions their skin-color.
it does, actually.
What is a black sounding name?
The script runs automatically, you can't permablue someone.
Ah but you can. Garry would have to add an exception to the script though. Here's something better. Reset his join date to august 2010, reset his posts, delete every post he ever made.
affirmative action is pretty bullshit when it's applied universally across the race; AA is in place to help people who were stuck in urban centers as children and grew up like that. I don't think AA should refer to race at all, I think it should refer to location of upbringing and to level of income. So, if you were born and educated in a city, you'd get a bit of help. The problem I see is that having grown up (poor) in a very affluent neighborhood, filled to the brim with doctors and lawyers etc who all make well over 100k / year, I've met black kids that were both extremely responsible and extremely immature. The responsible ones actually studied throughout high school and applied to great colleges and got in. The irresponsible ones did jack shit for school (one of them got like a total of ~800 on the SAT, which is absolutely abysmal) and because of AA, were easily able to get into the schools of their choice (which, of course, happened to be the university of CT, a renowned party school of the northeast). But the thing is that the minimum score to be accepted to this university, something officials claim they spread throughout all applicants, is that your SAT scores have to be a bare minimum of 1300; and that's without the writing section. (and the total score of this individual was around 800( Then I see these kids fuckin around during school just drinking like mad and failing numerous classes, taking their opportunities for granted. This isn't a characteristic of black men and women, it's just a characterisitc of teenagers. What's curious is that if they didn't have the forces of affirmative action in place behind them pushing them along (which is bullshit, considering they came from high income families) they never would've gotten into higher education. AA is fundamentally flawed in that it provides lower expectations to black men and women universally. However, AA isn't the problem, it's the fact that blacks for the past century and a half or so have been essentially stuck in Urban centers. Why? I honestly don't know, there seems to be some overarching force keeping them there. Once we fix the problem of terrible schools in urban areas, ideally, AA will become moot. until then I think AA should be refined to refer to anyone who grew up in a neighborhood with a shitty school and that's all
I find nothing to be proud of in the black culture of today.
ITT: TH89 brought his laptop with him when he took a poo and thought about racism some more.
