No, I'm not trolling, I'm making the point that any person should have the right to discriminate (and does so all the time) based on race or any other trait, be it concrete or imaginary, so long as it does not escalate into actual crime (which is not inherent to the concept of discrimination itself), so stop being such a baffoon TH89.
That's all.
People already have the right to discriminate race.
It's just that it's not necessarily true most of the time.
I don't have a problem with race, I have a problem with culture.
If a black person acts as I do, what I mean to say is: Fairly intelligent, play video games, speak in the way that I speak rather than what is commonly known as "ghetto talk", then I can actually say I am colorblind..
When I say I have "plenty of black friends", it is a misleading statement, because the characteristics of my "black friends" doesn't fit into your conception of what "black people" should be. I also have "plenty of white friends", some of the ones I am not friends with would fit into your conception of what "black people should be."
So basically you don't hate all black people, only poor black people. Whether you want to think of that as "racist" or not is pretty much beside the point, because it still contributes to the stuff mentioned in the OP. What you don't realize is having a good education is not the same thing as being intelligent, and about 50% of the "ghetto" black people you despise are more intelligent than you and your middle-class black friends.
Also, given that all it takes for most FPers to label a black person as "ghetto" is for them to have even a slight accent and wear a baseball hat or a jersey, that's pretty widespread discrimination all on its own.

I wonder how many white people who hate on black folks from ghettos actually live in trailer parks.
So many people seem to forget that shitholes exist in white societies as well.
I'm discriminating against you for being dumb right now
Well, you're certainly doing so because you think that, but whether or not you're right takes nothing away from the fact that you just demonstrated my point.
TH89 brings up a very good point, even if he uses his banhammer a little too much.
Well, you're certainly doing so because you think that, but whether or not you're right takes nothing away from the fact that you just demonstrated my point.
That's great. Good for you. Now go read a book.

It's not what you know, it's who you know.
Anyone who knows the right people can go far, I guess it's just hard for black people as a race to make connections.
I'd like to argue a point on the job discrimination. It could be about attitude too. For example, you have a white criminal who pulled a bad robbery or something and was convicted. He comes out of jail and wants to make a good honest living and is eager to work. Now you have the black man with a clean slate. He could have the exact same qualifications but not work as hard as the man with the criminal record because unlike the guy with the criminal record, he could get more job opportunities over time.

A lot of these guys have plenty enough money, and parents that care. Ghetto is a style, really. Case dependent, I mean.

Good Education =/= Culture
The CULTURE puts me off, it is alien to me and not something I am used to despite me having to deal with it. At an early age, in kindergarten and etcera, most of the kids were very similar, in that they were being "white-ified", or rather were acting as it is assumed white people are supposed to act.
Now in highschool, children of roughly of the same economic status made different choices in the culture they wish to live in. I had a friend named Michael who up until age 10 I got along with because he acted as I acted, I couldn't care if he was black. Now though, he has changed in that he has been assimilated into the "ghetto" movement: which means to say he talks differently than I do, makes different jokes, laughs at different jokes, different dialect+clothing style, WHATEVER. Point is, I don't HATE HIM, but we aren't as "close" as friends anymore.
By the way: I live in fucking Oak Park, poverty is pretty much non-existent here.
Skin Color does not matter to me, culture matters to me. I get along with people who act as I act, it is only human that I seek friends/mates with people that are like me. I don't care what you look like.
Genetically speaking, race doesn't exist.
how's that

It's because he went a different path than you, that's happened to many of my friends, even the ones that weren't black.
Just because he was black doesn't mean he was forced into the ghetto movement, he chose it.

You're just trying to rationalize this.
There's no proof that white criminals work any harder than non-criminal black people.
Question: Why does TH89 have an 'obsession' (If you will) about racism, and 'black'-people in general? Is this a fad or something? Because I do know that he isn't actually 'black' and he seems to be the #1 banner on racism as well as it's topics: like this thread. Now don't ban me for this question for I am genuinely curious as to why, not a thread de-rail or something.
Also, ya race doesn't exist because we were all from Africa at one point and all have the same mother (First Female). Your ('re?) brother is your ('re?) neighbor as they say.
everybody is racist in a manner, and when it's not blatant, racist jokes are rather funny. people crack jokes and make funny images from Hitler and other tragedies against man and no one is reprimanded for it, yet racism defended with an iron grip. lighten up. it's almost as if you have no satisfaction or control in your own life, TH89, so you feel you must police an internet board with a death grip to feel some pride. it's the internet.

Forgive me if I think "black people might be lazier than white people" isn't really a legitimate counterpoint.
Also, be aware that many of the cited studies factor that kind of stuff in, showing that all other things being equal, including workplace productivity, minorities are still given the shit end of the stick.
No it's not. It's a scientific fact.
That would have looked so much dumber if you had included the rest of my post. That aside, categories are inherently subjective, be they in the context of science or any other context, and that is a fact. I also challenge you to reveal the "science" in your claim, not the fact that we in scientific generally use a category called "race" that doesn't doesn't apply in the context of racial discrimination, but why it in fact ought to be used by everyone in all contexts. You'd be the first person to prove an ought in history AFAIK.

That was his point though, his skin colour has nothing to do with it. He was subjected into a culture that he personally does not connect with as much.

Because he realizes that we're all basement dwelling nerds with biased opinions about minorities.
It's bias if you don't realize it's there.

The differences between the races is pretty minor though.
Statistical differences are mostly due to cultural not genetic differences.

So your response is a link to how a bunch of people came to an agreement on their collective yet still subjective definition of race, not countering my point but rather supporting it. Cool, thanks.
This whole thread is a trap. Get out while you can.
The differences between the races is pretty minor though.

Well cultural difference is an entirely legitimate reason to be racist, in fact I've experienced very few people that were racist for genetic reasons (although they have a right to be stupid).
Just for the record I'm not a racist myself despite what I think TH89 is about to claim. I support people's right to discriminate, and that includes non-violent racism.
So your response is a link to how a bunch of people who came to an agreement on their collective yet still subjective definition of race, not countering my point but rather supporting it. Cool, thanks.
That "bunch of people" is the American Anthropological Association, a leading organization of scientists who make their living studying human beings. Their statement is based on empirical data.
The brand of new-age "everybody's right, there is no objective truth" hippie junk you're polluting this thread with has no place in a serious political discussion.
