Buy an older car,all the new cars are horrible pieces of crap. Maybe Smart-for four? It's a big bro of Smart. And isn't so ugly.
stick with japanese, mitsubishi eclipse gtx in good condition,
The fuck is an Eclipse GTX?
Eclipse Gran Turismo 10.
I recommend Honda CRX.
I recommend Honda CRX.
Honestly couldn't reccomend one unless you really like not being able to have anyone with you driving around. Any two seater car is kind of terrible as a first car. Unless you don't have any friends or family members to haul around.
Whatever you do, get the Chilton's / Hayne's manual for your car and take some time to learn how to fix it. It's a great feeling to know you can fix your own car and save a ton of cash if anything breaks. Seeing that you're in Canadia I found an RX-7 for 6k. Pretty cheap but it looks like it needs some cleaning on the interior and it looks like it has some exterior blemishes. It has "overheating problems" so if you got it I would check that out immediately. Also a fuckton of mileage. 1990 Nissan Pulsar
Pulsars are kick ass
RX-7? Really?
What? They're fast, cheap, but not really that good on gas, fucking rotarties. [editline]28th January 2012[/editline] Okay maybe the RX-7 isn't the best first car, try looking for a Golf GTi Mk1 or maybe a Mk5, everyone knows of these. They're fast, cheap, and great on gas and seats 4 people.
Reliable and cheap? Anything by Honda or Toyota. Toyota had some bulletproof engines that run on pretty much spit and dirt. So Corolla and Camry will be perfect. If you want something a bit sporty, you could get a 240SX that's been babied for under $6k. Miatas are often considered girly but because of that, they are often babied and are very cheap and very good handling. If you get one with a new engine dropped in it, it can also be somewhat quick. Integras are known for being ricey cars but they are reasonably reliable and if you can find a taken care of one, they are nice cars. You could also get a GOLF GTI or Jetta. They aren't nearly as expensive to repair as beamers but can still be reasonably pricy. Ford Focus are fairly reliable and have low resale so you could pick one up pretty cheap.
Volvo?
