Dark Marchmellows Eldars and Mint Orks
Blood God sticker included!
Technically, because they kill all the humans that maintain lines, so they sort of form lines of their own.

Purge puffs and Khorne Flakes.
A movie staring Chaos would not be very good. The Chaos Lord would be screaming and having a stroke, several chaos marines would be fighting over who gets to eat the remains of their enemies, and a few Khorne Berserkers would be eating hearts and playing soccer with dead cultists.
They're called Chaos for a reason.
Oh C'mon, don't tell me you didn't enjoy Storm of Iron.

Have you read the one where he gets trapped behind Ork lines?
That's the one were [sp]they are on a ice world and they accidentally stumble upon a Necron tomb, right?[/sp]
Wait, Ork's maintain lines?
Oh yes, odd as it is. Orks are pretty intelligent in warfare and in some cases tactics. The Old Ones did create them to fight the Necrons after all.
Oh C'mon, don't tell me you didn't enjoy Storm of Iron.
I never read that book.
But the Iron Warriors tend to be a bit more organized than most Chaos factions. I suppose they could work, but it would still be awkward watching a Warsmith have muscle spasms on DVD.
Nor really entertainment.

Khorne Berserkers are pretty sane when they're not fighting, Chaos in itself is random, many books show Chaos as being strange and unpredictable and completely random.
Only the Grey Knights (not technically a Chapter), the Storm Wolves and the Black Templars have more than 1,000 Astartes, and only because the first isn't an official Space Marine Chapter, the second can't be controlled, and the third are too elusive to allow an Inquisitor to count them all. 1,000 Chapters would make sense, though, so I agree with you there. Is there any official documentation that's defined that number?
Legion =/= Chapter
Only the Ultrasmurfs have only 1000 marines.
You are forgetting all the other non-mainstream chapters.
There are 1 million marines.

Only the Smurfs have exactly 1000 marines.
The Dark Templars have something like 10k, maybe I'm wrong but some chapter has around that number.
By your logic the only Chapters in existence are the Ultramarines, Black Templars, and Space Wolves. The Smurfs are not the only Chapter who follow the Codex Astartes, in fact, the majority of them follow it, and even then, not even the Smurfs have exactly 1,000 Marines. After the 10 Companies with 100 Marines each, you have to factor in the Captains and their Command Squads, the Chapter Master and his Honor Guard, the Techmarines, Chaplains, Librarians, Apothecaries, and the Captains of the Chapter's ships.
Man you guys don't give the IG enough credit. A Kasrkin squad could easily dispatch a lone Space Marine. A Hellgun can easily punch straight through Mark 7 power armor. Even an unlimited Lasgun can do significant damage.

Fuck even the ghost's wiped out a group of Chaos Marines and they aren't even that great.
Okay, posting in here only because of my name.
Well, nevermind, I'll actually say something:
"Fuck! Why Ultramarines! Why not Dark Angels!"

Ok, so a CGI 40k isn't guaranteed to be crap at least.

Live Action Space Wolf Termies, the acting is cheesy but hey, this was done by GW in the 80's when 40K was primarily cheese.
I know that this movie will be CGI, but if they could do that in the 80s, this gives me great hopes for a decent live action 40k movie.
Of course I do, at least on the Imperial side of things, I near enough live and breathe it.
You know, that Eighties short thing would be a lot better with retooled sounds.
I mean, if the effects were louder and if the actors made stronger choices with their voices, it might be almost bearable.
Hell, I can do that.
That inquisition movie that GW made before was from 1996 not the 1980s. Though they filmed it several years before and never used it.

Do it.
It's not like it can get any worse.
A Warhammer 40,000 movie?
I stay off the Internet for one day and THIS happens? :sigh:
So... any details on it yet? I've never heard of these "Codex Pictures" people... they don't even have an entry on IMDB... if all they have to their name is some CGI Bionicle movies, I'm not expecting much out of this...
But, seriously, Ultramarines? Out of everything in the Warhammer universe, they pick Ultramarines to make a "70-minute sci-fi thriller that will use CGI and state-of-the-art animation production techniques"...

Ratings go from 5.5-6.1/10 on IMDB... doesn't look promising.
If it ever gets done, they will probably show the Space Marines as badasses and the Imperial Guard as pussies who hide behind their Leman Russes. :sigh:

So? They haven't even released a trailer, it's not like you missed anything.
70 minutes long? Did I misread or is it seriously going to be 70 minutes long? No movie under 2 hours in lenght has even been even slightly good.
forgetting sarah marshall is 10 mins under two hours
you are wrong
[editline]03:17PM[/editline]
so basically imperial guard=Russia in WW2
Actually, not even the Ultras have 1000 or less battle brothers, i forget who worked it out or where, but it was estimated to be around 1300. Afterall, 1000 men equals 10 fighting 10 man squads in each of 10 companies, but on top of that you'd got to factor in techmarines, librarians, chaplains, vehicles specialists, Fleet admirals and captains, etc etc.
1000 marines is just a nice, smooth guideline number (mostly for ease of the reader etc) afterall, no sane chapter is going to turn away candidates that have passed the recruiting just because they're at the reccomended capacity.
Black Templars iirc have around 3000 battle brothers, Space Wolves have even more, with anything from 120 up to 1000 marines per company, as they refused to follow the codex.

The Imperial Guard can be pretty heroic and brave
I got given a postcard about this at this year's Gamesday (massive warhammer event, yes I kniw I'm a nerd) it looks meh, to be honest.
[editline]05:55PM[/editline]
Also it better show the marines as what they are; mindlessly devoted to their cause, not quite human, not the 'good' side and with a dark history, not the stupid comic book super soldiers the 12 year olds play them for.
, not the stupid comic book super soldiers the 12 year olds play them for.
Yeah, just read Gaunt's Ghosts.

I know they are super soldiers (I am not thick) but people seem to think that they are just awesome supercool badasses that fight for the good, whereas actually they are mindwashed slaves to the imperium, that are also mega powerful at fighting.
