Who can't love a Chapter that has this as their theme?
I believe THIS is the Ultramarines theme.
Enslavers? Never heard of them.
I fail to see your point. [editline]10:49PM[/editline] Well then how would Orks help?
They "like it" because they're gentically geared towards it, it's not a choice of they'll do it and like it. The enslavers didn't fight the old ones in any sort of battlefield way, they just released a plague which wiped most of them out. As for the Old ones and races, they created the Orks, they created the Eldar and they fiddled about with/encouraged/intervened in the early development of humanity (They're the cause of Psykers among humans) It's also speculated that the C'Tan fiddled with humanity too, giving them the Pariah gene.

There was an ancient race, called the Necontyre who lived very close to a sun. They lived only 20 years or less. They wanted to be immortal. The C'tan come along and say "Fight for us and you will be immortal" They join the C'tan and they turn themselves into mindless robots.
^Necrontyr As for other races, well, I've got my own personal theory that the Tyranids are the Old ones last, doomsday weapon against the C'Tan/Necrons. The C'Tan are anti psyker/Warp right? and we know that there's a specific nid species improved by eldar dna, Zoanthropes, so if the entire eldar race was consumed, along with the humans (for the psykers) and the passive psyker orks, that's a whole lot of psyker dna under the control of one unified hive mind.
I wish I was a nerd, My country can't afford/don't give a shit about Games Workshop, All I got is Soulstorm and Dawn Of War 2, Both are illegal cuz my country can't afford almost anything :hurr:
Also I should point out we do have a 40K Subforum here: http://www.facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=250
Also I should point out we do have a 40K Subforum here: http://www.facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=250
A pretty inactive subforum :sigh:
Yeah because not many people go there, hence me plugging it here so that more people will be aware of it.
Also I should point out we do have a 40K Subforum here: http://www.facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=250
What happened to hobbies section anyway?
Warhammer 40k should be promoted to front page.
Small sidenote here. The orks are the most numerous in 40k not humans o.o
Small sidenote here. The orks are the most numerous in 40k not humans o.o
No shit, and Tyranids consume planets and Soylent Green is people.
You know, if they did the Horus Heresy it could have been the next star wars...
You know, if they did the Horus Heresy it could have been the next star wars...
Star Wars wasn't that dark and incredibly violent.
Star Wars wasn't that dark and incredibly violent.
Lord of the rings then. Return of the king and Two Towers where dark at times. Also I hope tau make a cammeo in this film

Also, your grammar is horrible, improve it.
Lord of the rings then. Return of the king and Two Towers where dark at times. Also I hope tau make a cammeo in this film
Warhammer 40K is way more dark than that, to the Imperium, the slaughter of the entire population of middle earth would have been nothing more than a statistic.
Rayven, I quite like that Tyranid theory of yours. It makes sense in terms of the meta-plot, at least until we've got something concrete to work off of instead. The fact that they're extra-universal - that they came from an entirely different, uncharted area of space - lends to their mystery. Tyranids, not Orks, are probably the most numerous species in the galaxy. I like this thread; it's actually posted in, as opposed to the 40k Subforum. It's gone a bit off-topic, but all in the name of the Emperor, so it's alright.

Still, there's probably a shitload of 'Nids out there.
I said "extra-universal" but meant "extra-galactic" - the "universe" as the Imperium understands it is limited to what was charted during the Unification Wars - everything else is forbidden to venture into by default; the Tyranids first appeared from outside the Segmentum Ultima's eastern fringe, and attacked Talasa Prime, where they were first fought by the Imperium. I'm not wrong, but my use of "extra-universal" may have been misunderstood :)
Actually, I think the Tyranids came from another galaxy, so you're not quite right. Who knows, perhaps if that is the case, it all started off as a small experiment by an old one, got out of hand, killing the old one and whose genetic material was perhaps used to create the hive mind, and from then until now the nids have been slowly devouring that galaxy until they bled it dry and then moved on, heading towards this one (the knowledge of which could have been gotten from the consumption of the previously said old one) or maybe the old one has sent them now to stop the Necrons from rising again.

[editline]01:36AM[/editline] Wait, how could the Tyranids defeat the Necrons? There's no biomatter to consume is there? Doesn't that mean that the Necrons are the perfect weapon against the Tyranids, not the other way around? Ha, 3 questions in one post!
I think we're getting into the numbers debate again, which isn't actually answerable, nor can it be ended. It's a pointless thing to argue about, but it's safe to say that there are lots of everything in the 40K galaxy.
Wait, how could the Tyranids defeat the Necrons? There's no biomatter to consume is there? Doesn't that mean that the Necrons are the perfect weapon against the Tyranids, not the other way around? Ha, 3 questions in one post!
Except there's Humans, eldar and orks, plenty of psyker rich biomatter there. My theory isn't about the Nids devouring the necrons/C'Tan, but devouring psyker rich species, thus spawning Zoanthropes and the like, plus, the hive mind would end up as a entire galaxy spanning gestalt psyker, and Psykery is anathema to the C'Tan, thus causing them to bugger off somewhere/die.
C'Tan are below untouchables on the psyker scale, in that they're actually harmed by the simple occurence of warp events or the proximity of psykers. Just because the Necrons aren't the tastiest race doesn't mean that they can't be destroyed in a Tyranid attack; Necron Flayed Ones and Pariahs have "biomatter" (flesh) as a necessity as well.
So using the 'nids as living psychic weapons/beings is kinda like the opposite of what the Necrons were trying to do with the Cadian Pylons.
Alright, I'm getting a headache from all of the 40K stuff, Let's talk about the upcoming "movie" So, what do you think the enemies will be, fellas?
Necrons, Tyranids, Chaos, Tau, Orks, Eldar, Dark eldar, Inqusitior/renegade inquisition. There, it'll be one of those.
