Or Traitor Guard.
e: in fact, disregard that - they can fall under Chaos. How about Daemons, or perhaps there won't be antagonists. It'll just be 70 minutes of training and propaganda and worship.
Good of being a WH40k addicted is that you can justify your shit screaming "FOR THE EMPEROR!!! RWAR!"
Where a complete noob could learn more about the universe of 40k? The Lexicanum use a lot of references and shit, I can barely understand a plot/situation
All I know SM fight the shit out of the tyranids with this awesome gigantic guy using the Gauntlets of Ultramar

I'd much rather them have a movie where it consists of 90 minutes of showing the life, training, love, and friendship of an Imperial Guardsman, then in the last 10 seconds he goes into battle and gets killed by a Necron Gauss Cannon.
You know, if they did the Horus Heresy it could have been the next star wars...
I doubt it'll be about the Horus Heresy. Seeing as it has Ultramarines as the main chapter it's probably going to focus on Tyranid shit.
Which means if they don't do it just right it'll turn into your generic "SPACE MARINES VS. ALIENS!!!" movie.

Basically tab everything you see in the Lexicanum, then begin reading, that's what I did.

Reading the Lexicanum and trying to understand WH40k is probably not the best way to get to grips with the universe; I'd definitely recommend reading some of the Black Library (the publishing wing of Games Workshop) fiction; most of it is outstanding, and genuinely helps you to understand what the universe looks like from the inside out.
That Space Marines-fighting-Tyranids thing was probably the Battle for Macragge, the Ultramarine home planet - it sounds like you read about Marneus Calgar (the "Chapter Master" aka superboss of the Marines) kicking ass.

Not entirely, I have a relatively strong grip on what the fuck is going on in the Warhammer 40k Universe just by reading almost every entry in the Lexicanum (I have no life during Summer, ok?)

You read the facts, but not the soul! The soul is what counts!
you read the facts, but not the soul! The soul is what counts!
That's because THE SOUL GETS CONSUMED IN THE WARP.

Macragge, that's the name
Yeah, I read a little about their chapter master. How I couldn't anyway, in the Battle of Macragge art, he was bigger than a bus for Christ sake, I needed to know about him
Is there any good place to start my travel?
All the universe seems so interesting, too bad my country seems to lack of anything from Game Workshop too
Not sure if amazon.com deliver to South America, but it's worth a shot. Start with Dan Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts series - it introduces you to a lot of the "common sense" of the Imperium in the 40k universe, from the regard paid to the Inquisition to the fear and awe awarded to the Astartes, as well as how Chaos is regarded and such. For an introduction to the wider world and some of the politics of the Imperium, check out Eisenhorn, which focuses on an Inquisitor - another of Dan Abnett's books, and possibly one of the best series ever published by the Black Library.
You could also check out the Horus Heresy series, which literally shows how the Imperium of 40k was founded - it takes place in the 30th millenium, not the 40th, and tracks the Warmaster, Horus, who leads the Imperium in the Emperor's stead until he falls to Chaos and turns on his "father".
If there's anything in particular you're interested in, there's probably a book about it. The Ultramarines omnibus covers the big blue guys and also some of the background lore of the 40k universe - the first book introduces the "C'Tan" that you might have heard mentioned, though it doesn't go into any detail more explicit than "even Astartes fear them, and they can eat fucking suns". The first book also shows how essential to the mythos the concept of "heresy" is, and the effects that Chaos as a power can have on an Imperial civilisation not too far from our own, today.
I hear it's going to be much like the CGI intro for Dawn of War 2. If that's the case I think this is going to be bloody awesome.
This is awesome, Mechwarrior and Warhammer 40k, my two favourite franchises that I find out have movies in production on the same day!
Now if only they'd make a game that's FPS but in the style of the DoW intro I'd cream my crackers.

I agree, that would be awesome.
If the Articles on Lexicanum confuse you, jumping straight into the BL books will confuse you even more.
Read up onb the factions and armies beforejumping into novels.

They're teaching Ultramarine Concil at my school
Suddently, a space marine came to mind
You've taken the first step along the path of righteousness.
When you're into the lore, near enough everything triggers a 40k alert.
So anyways,
Let's talk about what kind of style will the movie be using
[editline]06:44PM[/editline]
Cuz I don't know shit about 40K
CGI, hopefully lots of blood.
There's honestly fuck all details released other than it's CGI, 70 minutes long and a supposedly sci fi thriller.

I'll never say the word Emperor the same again.
EMPRAH.

The best kind of CGI usage would be something along the lines of District 9, to be honest.
Did you know that the guy who did the voice of Lord Bale also did Dinobot, Silverbolt and Rattrap on Beast Wars?
Unrelated Fact 101 :colbert:
The Dobson Brothers have also done a shit load of voice acting, from Reboot to Planet Raiders.
Just because the Necrons aren't the tastiest race doesn't mean that they can't be destroyed in a Tyranid attack; Necron Flayed Ones and Pariahs have "biomatter" (flesh) as a necessity as well.
Flayed Ones don't have any biomatter, they just wear the flesh of their victims. Like a coat.
and they sometimes use them for hearth rugs too.

It's in fashion, you see.
