The old ones didn't create the warp, although they are largely responsible for how it is now, their war with the necrons and C'Tan whipped up the warp into a maelstrom, wheras before it was rather peaceful, relatively speaking, and the fact that they teneded to create/give psykery to other races.
But still, wasn't the Emperor the culmination of past shamans, or was he something else.
GW scrapped that.

Yea, thats what I meant. By warp I meant basically contributing to the creation of the Eye of terror.
It's said he was born of mortal parents, but how true that is we'll never know, I'm not counting out the fact that he could be an Old One.
Hmm. An entire race of Emperors.
How would they be defeated?
Hmm. An entire race of Emperors.

By beings that eat suns.
But can't an Alpha Plus ACCIDENTALLY destroy entire worlds, so whats keeping an Omega Plus (aren't there higher ranks then Alpha Plus?) From PURPOSEFULLY attacking a Sun Devourer.
wat
I always thought that the emperor had no supernatural powers at all and it was all technology and mythology, the same with librarians. But then I haven't read many of the books, so I wouldn't know.

Alpha Plus is the highest recorded level of psychic ability. The Chaos gods and Greater Daemons of Tzeentch would be Alpha Plus level psykers as the Imperium's propaganda paints them, able to "turn a man inside out with a glance" or "snap a Battle Titan in half with the flick of a wrist." However, Alpha Plus level abilities in humans are necessarily more subdued than they'd be in warp-creatures; in Dan Abnett's Eisenhorn, an Alpha Plus level psyker named Esarhaddon is able to control the minds of everyone within a city block, turning them against the Inquisitor and his allies, but that might be because his specific abilities are focussed around mental manipulation and such. As a general rule, most pskyers who exceed Beta level are either insane or daemon-possessed.
The Emperor exceeds the scale of psyker measurement; he is able to defy all four Chaos gods with a gesture, as is seen in the Horus Heresy series when he [sp]stops the warp-portal that the unborn Primarchs are being sucked up into; he wilfully lets it go and allows them to be scattered, however[/sp]. Nothing has the level of ability or control that the Emperor exhibits.

Lets just say hes a Rape Class psyker. I think if he just willed it enough he could get our present day Pope to suck his dick.
Orks are bestest, though. They dont need some sissy empror to be awesome, and the only thing stopping them from destroying EVERYTHING is the fact that they always fight each other. If they unite, they would wipe out the humanity, the Tau, the eldar, and then spread across the galaxy and spent eternity fighting off necrons (immortal), Tyranids and deamons (innumerable)
Necrons would wipe those Mofos off the face of the Galaxy if they all awakened.
Humanity would rule the galaxy if they stopped their cult religion shit and got down to tech again
Humanity would rule the galaxy if they stopped their cult religion shit and got down to tech again
Except they'd be wide open to the influence of the warp and before you know it Humanity is a bitter shadow ruled by the Ruinous Powers.
Great plan that.
The Imperial Cult and the unshakeable faith in the Emperor is what saves them from that fate. Hell, I remember in the Blood Ravens novels, an Eldar farseer remarks how similar human culture is to the Eldar's just prior to the fall, and reasons from there that their faith in the Emperor prevents another "Fall" event with humanity. Extremely important considering the Eldar's Fall created the Eye of Terror and birthed Slaanesh from their depravity.
Humanity has too much of a presence in the warp to escape via that route. The T'au pull it off because they have little to no presence in the warp, unable to harness it but for their brief warp-diving jumps, and with no Psykers at all.
Pre Heresy they were all anti religion and they didn't get fucked over then. Then again this was before the Eye of Terra existed and before Slaanesh was born.
Obama => Chaos Champion of Tzeentch
GW scrapped that.
I still personally believe that's how became to be. it's the best way to explain his godly abilities.
Pre Heresy they were all anti religion and they didn't get fucked over then. Then again this was before the Eye of Terra existed and before Slaanesh was born.
Psykers are becoming increasingly more common within humanity, which in itself further increases the race's receptiveness of the warp. Without the Imperials (And specifically the Inquisition/Astropathicus/Black Ships here), every Psyker would be easily subverted by the Ruinous powers, it would lead to humanity's downfall.
The Imperium of Man is here to stay, ladies and gentlemen, anything else would be... ruinous.
Stray not from your faith in the Emperor, for down that path lies madness and damnation.
The Imperium isn't going to last much longer. Especially now that the tech-priests can't even keep the golden throne operational.

I think you'd be mistaken in that, I just think we're coming close to the "final" days of the WH40K universe. I reckon it won't be long until that final, prophesied battle where the Emperor leads the faithful in one, last, great crusade.

That basically means everyone's fucked, since the Tabletop Emperor would probably be a Win button.
Speaking of Tabletop, how extensive is GW in letting players in Tournies determine the fate of worlds? I hear they did something like that for Armageddon.

I fucking hope that never happens.
If the Orkz travel through the warp, wouldn't they be susceptible to Chaos?
The "ban" on new technology really needs to be lifted if the Imperium wants to survive. They could be outfitting standard IG troopers with SM grade equipment by now if it wasn't for that.

They used to do that to advance the timeline, but they haven't really done it recently. I think they're afraid of the story moving forward.

So long as story doesn't interrupt too much with the gameplay...

Good thing there are Orks in every galaxy in the universe huh.

Why don't they just invent an alternative universe for these events? Marvel does it all the time. Works out ok for them.

Correction. "face of the universe."

Nope, the Emperor is 100% supernatural. He is immortal.
Correction. "face of the universe."
Er, the universe isn't a face. It's a space.
That's like saying "all the whales on the face of the ocean".
Besides, Orkz is best. Dem bugs is weak.

There is no "ban" on new technology.
Literally nobody knows how to make anything new anymore, they don't even know how to make short wave radios.

They think that there's a magical fucking man inside of computers and when they fix computers they're waking him up.
They think that the reason guns fail in combat is because they're mad at you.
They think that Orkz ain't best.
These are stupid motherfuckers.
