Yeah, great idea, get the worst writer possible to write it.
Perhaps you should specify that you were talking about Goto.
Sweeeeet. If this is anything like the Dawn of War intros then I'm sold already :D Should totally have some White Scars action in there though.
BUMP New stuff.
Holy shit.... This movie will be AMAZING now, even though i thought it would be awesome from the start (Ultramarines fan lol)
Dan Abnett? Sold.
I'm intrigued. While I was somewhat underwhelmed by what I've read of his stuff, I see potential, so I'll be sure to keep an eye on this. That's the critic side of me, the 40K nerd in me is giggling with delight and anticipation. Hee hee.

Fuck the ultramarines, Chaos is where it's at.
Fuck the ultramarines, Chaos is where it's at.
Barely anyone knows about the Warhammer 40k Universe, it makes perfect sense that they would choose to base the movie off of the "vanilla" Space Marines.
Barely anyone knows about the Warhammer 40k Universe, it makes perfect sense that they would choose to base the movie off of the "vanilla" Space Marines.
What if part of the reason for this movie is to bring more people into 40k? I think the Ultramarines are the best way to entice people, because like you said, it's vanilla 40k. Did that make as much sense as i thought it did?

Forgive me if I'm wrong (Been into the hobby for like 4 months) but aren't Ultramarines essentially the only Chapter without any Gene Seed mutation? I just think it would make for a more interesting movie if they used something other than the 'perfect' marines.

Looking at Martyn Pick, he seems to be a respectable animator and director. This should be interesting. Though I want to see some fucking media before I say anything definitive. Come on you bastards, throw us a screen of the main characters at least. [editline]02:18AM[/editline] Also better be some fuckin' Orkz. Cause dey'z da best. Fuck, I need to paint some shit now.

But can they really attract a large audience towards the film is they don't at least have some back knowledge of Warhammer 40k? This film is going to have to have some damn good publicity in my opinion.
I would like a Ork Movie but it would just be constant shooting and explosions and Dialogue would be consistent of the Ork slang :V
I would like a Ork Movie but it would just be constant shooting and explosions and Dialogue would be consistent of the Ork slang :V
"Oi, boss, dis 'umie is in da camp an' 'e luk like a ork. I'd shoot em up, but da grotz fell on me shooter and mucked it up." "Oi there. My name is Jake Shootskragga. I is in a puppet body, 'alf ork an 'alf 'umie. I needz you's all to leave cause' da uvva 'umies wuntz dis land fer da metal." "..." "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH DAKKA DAKKA, SCRAG DAT GIT AN' LETZ KIL DEM 'UMIEZ" I'd watch that movie.
Deff Skwadron: Da 'uvie
Dan Abnett? The movie might not actually suck now.
Deff Skwadron: Da 'uvie
It'd be like Rambo 2, but it wouldn't be trying to be Rambo 1.
If they ever show the Horus Heresy, it'd better be the fucking Imperial Guard that stands in his way, not the fucking Custode.
Lol would anyone else find an Imperial Guard movie hilarious? Like one of the standard regiments, not like the Tanith, where the entire movie is kinda like the opening to Saving PRivate Ryan, except all the Nazis are aliens, and there are about 1 billion more "americans", and it's not on a beach...

I would totally spent 10 bucks for a total war movie.
Man, I've always wanted a movie about 40k. Fucking awesome.
I've not played a Warhammer 40k game before. How good are they? Video, perhaps?
More like,
Well not really. Because we're talking about a movie. Dur. :downs:
Well not really. Because we're talking about a movie. Dur. :downs:
Well you're obviously not right in the head.
I've not played a Warhammer 40k game before. How good are they? Video, perhaps?

Well you're obviously not right in the head.
Well then my post applied perfectly because that was, in fact, a Warhammer 40k game. :colbert:
