I like Spacemarines because they're fucking badass, but when they're stood there in their massive suits of armour giving out great lines of dialogue in a film it will just be stupid. A film about a bunch of lowly Imperial Guard squaddies or some Tau Fire Warriors would be far more interesting and the characters would be much better than just "hurr for the emprrrora" Spacemarines that are far too one-dimensional for a film.
Part of the reason Abnett was selected for the script is because he's capable of making believable, likable characters. Granted he mostly did novels about the Imperial Guard, but his talents will lend well to making likable genetically-modified super-racists. :v: As for the whole confusion about how and when the Blood Ravens were introduced, alot of people are probably confusing them with the Blood ANGELS.
I want a imperial guard movie :(. But this one looks good. If Dan Abbet writes the script it'll be awesome. [editline]05:11PM[/editline] Bit off topic, but can a Mechanicus princeps unhook himself from his casket or is he bound to it for ever?
This writer has talent. I HAZ TALENTZ LOL

Even though they aren't REALLY vampires. And yeah, hopefully Abnett does pretty well - he must be feeling pretty stressed because if he doesn't deliver he's going to have hell to pay from all Warhammer fans. And I really hope that they don't do Tau either, that'll be like Avatar all over again but ~space age~. Fucking blue aliens.
Except instead of bows and stones it would be plasma cannons and rail guns.
And it wouldn't try to act all deep, and recognize itself for what it is.
Never saw this thread before. :v: I adore the 40k universe. I really hope they make this well.
Except instead of bows and stones it would be plasma cannons and rail guns.
That's what ~space age~ means. :)
hey guys, do you think MPAA would allow Slaanesh to be in it?
hey guys, do you think MPAA would allow Slaanesh to be in it?
No. They are too gay/weird/perverted/pink.
Lolno my brother had 2001/1999 issues of White Dwarf or whatever it is that had Blood ravens.
Maybe you're thinking of the Blood Angels ?
hey guys, do you think MPAA would allow Slaanesh to be in it?
Oh God no.
Oh God no.
Slaanesh would make for awesome movie material.

So when's the ETA on this thing?
Late this year I guess?
Slaanesh would make for awesome movie material.
Dear god no.

Like in Straight Silver when [sp]Cuu murdered Muril[/sp] I really felt it. Even though it was a relatively small character it had a big impact. That's one of the things that makes Gaunt's Ghosts and Dan Abnett in general so good. He builds complex, believable, likeable characters and delves into complex social interactions with them. It will be interesting how he puts this with Space Marines, but the news that he's signed on has got me interested.

Their skin is leathery and they are short and weak.
Except Tau share absolutely no similarities with Na'vi apart from being blue. They don't even share any other physical traits. Their skin is leathery and they are short and weak.
And us fiendish and evil humans kill them because we're fiendish and evil.
And us fiendish and evil humans kill them because we're fiendish and evil.
No, we kill them because the Xenos won't submit themselves to the God Emperor.
Also Communist.
And use guns
Except Tau share absolutely no similarities with Na'vi apart from being blue. They don't even share any other physical traits.
No, we kill them because the Xenos won't submit themselves to the God Emperor.
He who shelters and protects us, He who united Humanity, the Xeno doesn't understand, their soulless gaze devoid of His holy word, their mind not filled with His glory.
Seriously this thread is making me reconsider playing 40k again, I stopped about 2 years ago, but I still read some of the books, and am very interested in the whole '40k universe'. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited for this movie. Also, what armies have been updated since my long break? I think the last one I saw was the Tau Empire update, which convinced me to create a small Tau army.
the god emperor was butt raped by horus but not before he liquidated him
Why did the Emperor not just obliterate Horus in the first place? He didn't feel like it :v:
No, because Horus was his favorite clone.
i was trying to be funny :saddowns:
