If the warp was destroyed, they couldn't and if the Astronominican stopped they would have NO point of reference in regards to where they are or where they are going.
Astronominican gone = Warp Travel guaranteed to result in a lost ship or be light years off course.
As far as I know, the Astronominican was created long, long, long after warp travel. And the navigators are the only ones who can see it, and as such use it. Its been said somewhere, and I'll grab a source in a minute, that computers can be used to make shorter jumps, but navigators are required for the longer jumps. Basically, the navigators are translating the warp for the computers, so they can make more accurate jumps. Otherwise, they can guess fairly accurately to a certain range.

Yea, well the Emperor is reborn after he dies and saves the universe.
Yes but now the Imperium absoloutely relies on Navigators and the Astronomican, so if either of those were to go, humanity would be in serious trouble, Navigators would have no point of reference (the Astronominican)
It'd be trying to guess where you were without a map or road signs.
They don't translate the warp, they read it and make alterations to the course of the ship.

The Macharian crusade partly stopped because the ships went past the range of the Astronominican and on top of that the soldiers didn't fancy leaving the galaxy.

What are you smoking? The point of Grim Dark is that there's no happy endings. Plus the whole Star Child theory has been somewhat retconned.
Do they have videogames in WH40k?
Nope, I doubt the Mechanicum would look too kindly on videogames, using precious technology for mere entertainment.
Seriously, the goverment in V for Vendetta gives more freedom than they do in WH40k.
Adam Sutler for Chancellor 2012 btw.
Sniped for Greater Good™
It really depends on what planet/social class you were born on, A Necromundan nobility persons life would be vastly different from a Necromundan Ganger.
That's because in V for Vendetta, they weren't endangered by death robots, giant green humanoids, some elven pricks, blue space communists, and some powerful anarchists, all at the same time.
Although I do agree, living in 40k universe as a civilian, is a shitty life.
3 Automerges and 1 repost? Bad.

I thought the Star Child was just a conspiracy made up by Tzeentch

no
every life is shit in warhammer 40k
humans are either meatbag shields for the Imperium or living in total poverty
eldars are almost extinct with Slaanesh trying to consume them all
Orkz loves warfare too much and have life expectancy more better than an imperial guard
Tau is...fuckers don't belong here.
Necrons are zombies hellbent on killing all life
every planet is a shithole and every "jewel" planet is on the verge getting eaten by the Tyranids
theres noting happy in the universe of Warhammer 40k.

Speaking of Tyrannids, I thought I'd add that the latest codex hints that the 'Nids might have come here because they're running away from something, so add that to the "shit that will fuck Humanity" list. Because whatever can spook Tyrannids to the point of traveling the void to get away is definitely bad news for the Imperium.

I don't have the book on me, a friend has it, but it's speculated in the new codex that it's possible that the Tyrannids are running away from something.

You got the Humans and Tau wrong.
Tau are happy within their caste
Humans actually do for the most part live happy lives. Farmers and others who live on unimportant rules.
Humans aren't all poor meatbags, there are aristocracies and super-rich on planets.
It would be like saying a peasants life is shit in the Middle Ages (which it was, but to the Peasant it didn't seem as shitty.)
I'd still love to live on the world which was basically Jolly England, where the world consisted of happy jovial towns dotting the green hilly countryside (What was the name of the planet again?)

oh well, but you have to admit there's billions of humans being butchered by alien forces.
and thats why tau dont belong here.
they're too happy and nice. it was kind of unsettling for him to ask the enemy commanders to surrender when every one them goes
"YOU FOOL, I GOT YOU NOW, DIE SCUM".

Well, individual creatures have no fear because they're driven on by the Hive Mind, nothing says that that hive mind doesn't actually fear, it just has no hesitation sending of its controlled subjects to die.

I always thought it was an old one Final Soloution, incase the necrons started waking again, conducted in another galaxy for security.

Terra alone has a population of 100 Trillion.
Also, the Tau are so optimistic because they are so young.
Isn't Terra our planet in WH40k?
Because I cannot imagine 100 trillion people living on Earth.

Not in decent living conditions no. But this is 40K, hive cities galore! Not sure what the ladnscape of Terra is like, I know there's no oceans or vegetation, so I guess it's all hives. Hives are awesome :3:
Big planet?
Our planet can't hold 100 trillion people that's for sure.
Our planet can't hold 100 trillion people that's for sure.
Does it have to be compared to our planet?
Also, our planet is 71% water, Terra probably is many times the size, and has hardly any water, if not none.
