Does anyone remember the live-action FMV's from W40k Final Liberation? It had a Commissar in it that looked like Richard O'Brien from the Crystal Maze. And awful CGI even for 1997. It was still awsome.
Inquisitor? You can watch it on Youtube

I can guarantee the Ultramarine Theme will be, at the very least, based on this: Where was this theme from, anyway?
Warhammer 40K Chaos Gate.
Warhammer 40K Chaos Gate.
Listening to a lot of the music, and honestly the music seems a lot more accurate towards the Imperium of Man then the themes in Dawn of War.

Suprisingly enough it was released in 1998, doesn't seem that long ago. As for the music, I agree with it mostly, apart from the Marine theme, I think that fits will, albeit not as a piece of music the marines would come up with but what the imperium would to go along with marine propoganda campaigns.
Front page updated again!
Take a look at the cast line up, http://ultramarinesthemovie.com/news/2010-03-09/voice-actors-ultramarines-movie-announced Do we have a winner?
That's a bingo!
Christ this is going to be awesome.
Although I prefer Salamanders or Blood Ravens, I guess I could enjoy a Ultramarines movie, considering they're still badass if they're a space marine.
Sean Pertwee would be great as an IG Veteran Sergeant, or Stormtrooper Sergeant. Looks like he's a marine though. Wonder who'll be the squad commander.
Hopefully we get to see some Imperial Guard during this movie.
An imperial guard movie would've been a better choice IMO or a band of brothers type thing
Need more guard and space weeaboos
An imperial guard movie would've been a better choice IMO or a band of brothers type thing
First episode is them being conscripted and trained. In the second episode they are sent against a group of orks as cannon fodder, half get killed because they're engaging 8 foot tall walking fungus with and axe, then the rest get hit by friendly artillery that is targeting the orks. Movie over. It is peculiar that they used the Ultramarines, but w/e. Might get to see some orks killed with a Gladius.
Not really peculiar, since Ultramarines are pretty much The flagship of the most bought product, it's unsuprising really. A TV series of Gaunts Ghosts would be awesome (I for some reason envision Hugh Jackson as Gaunt, maybe Ron Perlman as Hark too oh and of course Ray Winstone as Corbec ) I'd have loved a film based on the Book Iron Snakes, pretty much Spartan Hoplites combined with Space Marines, shit is epic.

They do win shit some of the time, Which is why they have some pretty lengthy books about them.
Not all Imperial guard are Herp Derp Cannon fodder. They do win shit some of the time, Which is why they have some pretty lengthy books about them.
exactly, how can they all lose when one of their commander can make a baneblade appear out of thin air.

A platoon of them can't even take the paint off a space marine, and they MIGHT give an Ork a bad sunburn. Guard's all about the armor and artillery, the infantry are just there to soak up the fire and hold the enemy in position. Unless you're talking about Kasrkins or something, but that is a different story.
I think your horribly underestimating them.
I don't underestimate the Guard, not by a long shot. A single guardsman is about as useful as a rock though. If a rock could walk. The whole strength of the Guard is that they can throw 500,000 men at an objective that the Space Marines could only send like 100 men after. The whole point being is that if you're going to make a movie focusing on a small group, it's probably best that the group doesn't consist of men who will most likely be one of millions who are torn apart, eaten, electified, or melted by superheated plasma vented onto them from one of their heavy weapons.
Well, based on Fluff, it depends whose book you're reading, if it's a guard book, they're going to be somewhat effective, if it's a marine book, it's going to be as you said. f you go by tabletop, yeah you can't wipe out tons of space marines by a single squad, but you can take down a few. Though Yeah Guard are about superior and replaceable numbers. Like I said, a Band of Brothers type series featuring Gaunts Ghosts would be awesome and would work well, so would a movie based on Fifteen Hours.

Suppose Morgan freeman could be thrown there somewhere as one of the ghosts too.
Don't you guys mean Hugh Jackman?
