I still haven't played this game.
Should I?
People actually think that?
God yes.
Space Marines have personalities. Just as much as the guard.
The guard are the ones that don't have personalities, because they are all emotionally scarred from being thrown into the worst combat imaginable.
The marines even play games with one another during combat, like, kill the most enemies and even kill an enemy in a ridiculous way.
That's barely a personality. That's an arcade machine module installed on a killing machine. Now, IG don't have such problem. Because they are normal people, not bred to kill as much as ordered to.
At the end of the day, movie about a commissar, would be awesome.

"My mind is broken from being raped by chaos."
"YOU ARE IMPURE AND DIDNT DO 150 PUSHUPS, YOU MUST DIE NOW"
*blam*
"I AM ANGRY FOR THA EMPRA"
The end.
They need to do a Ork movie. They could do it like the A-Team, only with more grot abuse and hilariously pointless violence.
Just get a few Orks together into a little group, and say that they're Orks who've fucked up and were assigned to the team as punishment, and are sent ahead on "super special missions". (read: to get shot first)
Then they blunder their way through their mission in the most belligerent and fuckawesomely funny way imaginable.
I would watch the shit out of that.
Seriously fuck the space marines I want ork hijinx
I hope this film does not sacrifice the ideology for a mainstream audience, at the end of the day space marines are fanatical killing machines that if ordered would kill an entire population.

"BBBBUT CAPTAIN BOREALE"
"WHAT ES IT SPESS MAREEHNS?"
"WE CANT FIGHT THESE PEOPLE THEYRE INNOCENT AND HAVE BEEN FOOLED BY CHAOS"
"YOUR RIGHT BATTLE BRUTHER LETS HAVE A TEA PARTY AND FIGHT THE IMPERIUM BECAUSE THEYRE EVIL"
"hy my name is john commissar and i want to join your side because the imperium is mean"
"YOU SHALL BE THE TEA PARTY MATRON."
And they had a tea party that expelled the chaos out of everyone and no one was hurt and everyone was happy forrest of time.

This man has the right ideas. Listen to him!

Emperor isn't dead, he's just basically dead.
He's kept alive by his throne right?
EDIT: And I personally think Blood Angels/Black Templars/Dark Angels would make a good movie.
Or any non-codex chapter.
Isn't the Emperor gonna die soon?
Heard GW where gonna pull the plug next gen or something.
Intergalactic shitstorm incoming.
GW is too afraid to advance the story in any way.

You're saying combat veterans don't have personalities? I can think of quite a few that are quite cynical, but they're still not cookie cut.
You could make the point that some Guard Regiments travel between different wars for decades, basically experiencing Sci Fi Vietnam , WW1 etc in the same life time.. If you take Gaunt's Ghosts for straight canon that is, but I still don't see them losing their personalities.
Astartes would be for more likely to lack certain prevalent traits due to their well document indoctrination. Not to mention the fact that they live many lifetimes longer then a Guardsman.
I got into an argument with someone as to why Ultramarines are named Ultramarines, and they said it's because the name of their homeworld is Ultramar.
Of course, the conversation ended with this being said:
Me: That's because Ultramar is named after the color Ultramarine
Guy: Uhh, Ultramar is white.
Me: To us, yes, but in UV light it glows blue, which Ultramarines can see. You see, Ultramarines are like bees. Large, blue, murderous bees.

Ever read any of the Space Wolves books? Yup.
Such personalities may be limited to the Space Wolves though.
For example:
A Rune Priest tried to use an Ork skull as a cup, but he said it didn't work because the eye sockets were connected to the brain cavity.
Everybody gets drunk and fucks shit up.
They should base the movie off the Ultramarines omnibus by Graham McNeil, 'twas a good read and would have GRATUITOUS AMOUNTS OF VIOLENCE
I do not know much about Warhammer and have never really played the game. However, I watched the voice cast video and found out that Sean Perwee is in it. Now I must see.
I can't imagine the universe of shit everyone would be in if the Empra got topped. I hope GW do it, just to see what would happen.

Oh man, that would be a hugeee fucking game changer haha.

The Imperium would collapse, and humanity would go extinct.
The webway gate behind the Golden Throne would open, and infinite daemons/Chaos forces would pour out until Terra and the Sol system are completely gone.
Long range jumping would be impossible, and many ships travelling in jumps would be lost in the warp.
Chaos/Necrons/Orks/Dark Eldar/'Nids would decimate the human race.
However, the Emperor would be reborn in the Warp and kill the Chaos gods, then bring peace to the warp and reincarnate back to Humanity, end the Ecclessiarchy and reinstate the human race back to a golden age, and eventually take over the galaxy.
That's just propaganda, the emperor is useless.
Whatever you say
That's just propaganda, the emperor is useless.
Uh, no it isn't. Thats what GW said would happen in the Star Child theory.
Man, he didn't even say that starchild was false, he said that the Emperor himself is useless
So I remember reading a short story a while ago about the nids overrunning a small spess mehreen outposty type place.
It was either in white dwarf or a Tyranid codex, can't remember.
A few parts I do remember though, a Titan was overrun by gaunts and destroyed, simply by the sheer number of them.
And it ended with a ravner/trigon bursting out of the ground in the middle of the outpost.
