So I remember reading a short story a while ago about the nids overrunning a small spess mehreen outposty type place.
It was either in white dwarf or a Tyranid codex, can't remember.
A few parts I do remember though, a Titan was overrun by gaunts and destroyed, simply by the sheer number of them.
And it ended with a ravner/trigon bursting out of the ground in the middle of the outpost.
Doesn't sound right. a Titan would not get ovveran by a swarm of Tyranids. It would get raped in every single tiny hole it had until it lost all biomatter after which the Tyranids would go after the outpost.
I distinctly remember reading about the enormous horde that just swarmed over the titan.
It was just one small part of the nid force that did it.
Really wish i kept all my white dwarf issues.
Can't freaking wait.
Man, he didn't even say that starchild was false, he said that the Emperor himself is useless
I suppose he is kinda useless at the moment, I mean, keeping back the impending horde of Daemon forces is a full-time job.
I want a movie about Orks, with Ork subtitles.
I hope this film brings them enough cash in to make some more in future. Maybe show some more of dem xenos and heretics.
Bringing this to everyones attention (40K related)
I've started sign ups for the Facepunch V40K tournament
Competitors needed.
cool, never seen this vassal thing before, im downloading it and having a look.
I was going to, but then it dawned on me I don't really know the rules of a Warhammer 40k. Whenever I've played with friends I just move shit about while they tell me to roll dice.
I can't wait to see some xenos blood splattered all over the screen!
I just bought about 10 W40k books for University.
Some include.
9 - 13 in the Horus Heresy (Tales of Heresy to Nemesis)
Entire Gaunt's Ghost series.
You will enjoy them, especially Gaunts Ghosts. brilliant series.
just saw the trailer.
it looks absolutely HORRIBLE. the animation is absolutely terrible.

I disagree completley tbh, I thought the animation was pretty good. The complaint I have is the intro sequence by John Hurt, apparently the ultramarines are the bestest thing ever and the implication is that the only things in the universe that fight for humanity are the space marines. Dont go getting no hopes up about any IG prescence
Is it just me or does the trailer look like Starcraft 1 movie + animations.
Looks terrible imo.
I've never really been interested in WH40K. Maybe this movie will change my mind.

This. It has nothing on the quality of the Dawn of War series introductions.
Delicious 90s cgi
Oh my God.
That was fucking horrible.
It looks worse than Dawn of War 2 in game.
FUCKING SHADERS MUCH.
eugh...
pretty bad looking
but still watching because its always good to see something on 40k
what the fuck did they do.
that shits looks like fucking anal evacuation.
it looks fucking pre render
it looks like a fucking episode of jimmy neutron
The damn starship toopers roughnecks show had better cg than this.
The trailer is still probably a very early trailer, put out to whet the fans tastebuds, its probably nothing like how it'll finally end up.
Though TBH i'd have preffered live action, I mean, alright

Was how it was in the 90's, but back then it was heavily cheesy and less grim dark than it is today. plus SFX and CGI in general have come a long way.
It's been in development for a year if that, for a purely animated film ,thats not a long time.

Show me one example of a movie putting out a trailer without rendering it first.
What about the shitty models? Or the shitty facial movement?
Uh, if the trailer wasn't rendered, you wouldn't even have been able to watch it. You sound like it killed your favourite dog.
All I'm saying is, it's probably a very early teaser trailer.
The film itself is unique in that it's by fans and geared directly towards fans.

Pre Render as in the shadowless shaderless animation preview.
If by "by fans" you mean "by Codex pictures, creators of the Bionicle movie".
I'm angry because I'm offended. What kind of prick puts this shit out and expects someone to buy it.
And this isn't a teaser trailer. They released that months ago. It was a marine standing and doing nothing. That's a teaser. This is a trailer.
Do you honestly think they've released unfinished scenes in the trailer? No movie has ever done that before in history.
Then don't buy it then. Afterall you're not being forced to buy it are you.

Games Workshop? *shrug*
You guys are liars, the trailer was awesome. Yes, the part with the old space marine talking with no helmet was bad, but that actually does look like it's unfinished and it probably is.
Voice acting was pretty sweet though at least.
Although the trailer didn't look anything special CGI wise, it's nowhere near as bad as you're all making it out to be.
Oh dear, it's final liberation 2.0 still I hope the story will be good.
