Or any chapter besides the Ultramarines.
I guess the only real justification for using them is because they are pretty much the tutorial space marine chapter for drawing people into the storyline.
If anything I think relic could do a better job with a CGI movie. But I'm not going to judge too much if I haven't seen anything yet.
Relic weren't the ones to make the 1st intro movie, not sure about the rest though.
If so, then yeah sure.
Oh I wasn't sure, but whoever came together to make the first movie did a good job.
I want a Warhammer movie, damn it! Not Warhammer 40k :(
A Gotrek & Felix movie would be awesome.

We have a thousand fantasy movies already.
But few Super-power-armored-Chainsaw-sword-welding-verse-spitting-kick-ass-space-marines movies.
Relic didn't do the CGI for the Dawn of War games. In my Animation class, our lecturer showed us the movies and linked us to the CGI company's webpage, trying to find it, but Relic definately got a CGI Company to do it.
I have no problem with the movie being centred around the Ultramarines; the WH40k fiction world (the Black Library in particular) proves just how easy it is to create a good story, and how many possibilities for unique stories there are. For example, a Space Marine chapter consists of 1000 Astartes, then thousands more followers - you could write a story about just one of these thousand, and you could make it interesting.
The success of this movie really depends on whether the story is written by someone like Dan Abnett, in which case it'll be a quality story, or someone who can't capture an audience for shit.
Found the people who did Dawn of War 2's they're a company called Plastic Wax, more info can be found here:

AKA C.S.Goto.
Brb admiring my The Saint book (three Dan Abnett books in 1) signed by Dan Abnett, I won it from an Xfire contest, I came 10th out of 10 people. :v:
In other topics: This movie will be good, I don't really see why you all bitch and moan about "OMFG ULTRAMARINES ITS GONNA SUCK!!11"
Seriously, they're a good way to introduce people to Warhammer and they're like any other space marine, of course some chapters have different implants and such than others.
Don't admire it, read it, or failing that buy another copy to read whilst preserving that.
Read The Founding first, it comes before The Saint chronologically.
If you want an introduction to the workings of the mundane Imperium, rather than the mundane soldiers of the Imperium (who are anything but dull in Abnett's books), read Eisenhorn. It's a fantastic trilogy, by the same author.
I've read, well, all Abnetts books from al lof the released Ghosts. to Eisenhorn, to the Ravenor trilogy to Titanicus to the HH books he wrote.
I've read the Founding, the Saint, Eisenhorn, Ravenor and the only HH book he's written, Horus Rising.
I love the man; he's a literary genius.
Yes you all jump to the conclusion that I don't have The Founding or that I've not read The Saint.
Newsflash: I've read them both.
Don't be badmouthing the Ultramarines.
I hope there's no Eldar in it. They're so poncy. I hope it's just lots of gory fights between Ultramarines, Chaos Marines and ORKZ!
Don't be badmouthing the Ultramarines.
Why what they going to do, bunch of rule following starch arse pansies.
Oh look at me I'm so scary that I've been named after a colour!
Don't be badmouthing the Ultramarines.
There's nothing wrong with the Ultramarines.
It's just they get the spotlight more than any other chapter.
Which is completely justifiable, just a tad annoying.

That's because it's the only color with ULTRA in its name.
Where is megayellow? Or superorange? Or gigapink? They don't exist. Because they're not badass enough.
Also I think having the word marine in the name could have been a factor
Ultramarine, more like Ultrauseless, any other chapter would have pwned the nids when they invaded Maccrage.
Wolves are greater, namely for the fact that they told Guilliman to fuck right off with his precious little book and kept their size as that of a Legion.

The Battle of Macragge produced some killer artwork.

Definitely! Nathan Long does a good job keeping the franchise going, but William King cannot be beaten ;)
Am I the only one who liked the Bionicle movie?

Reminds me, I need to pick up Elfslayer soon.

The Ultramarines did pwn the nids. The Space Wolves would've just said, "Fuck strategy" and charge headlong into the Hive Fleet and gotten their furry asses eaten.
