They didnt crap their pants either, they got a little freaked abd calmly ordered a orbital strike
Yes they did, Varl, pretty much along with the rets of them ran away screaming.
brb, reading that section of the novel [editline]07:23PM[/editline] 7 ghosts, corbec, larks(my 2 fave chars),varl, suth, mallor, durcan and billad against a daemon the size of a large room with tentacles (If they were japanese schoolgirls in an anime, they would be double fucked) the only weapon fluff wise that could stand a chance against that is the melta, which suth accidently drops after durcan gets shredded, so it makes sence that they paniced.
What's a good 40k novel for newbies to the lore? I'm seeing so many names and terms getting thrown around that I'm unfamiliar with. Going to be heading to Barnes & Noble next week and I saw a few shelves stocked with 40k books.
Gaunts ghosts probably, because even when it mentions names, words and terms, you can generally get the idea even if you have no idea about the lore
he only weapon fluff wise that could stand a chance against that is the melta, which suth accidently drops after durcan gets shredded, so it makes sence that they paniced.
And that disproves my point about how Flashlights would do nothing more than annoy a Daemon?

blah blah astartes
The Ciaphas Cain novels are a buttload of fun. Completely refreshing change of tone for a 40k book.
Bump for second trailer!
Much better than the first, but I'm still fairly skeptical.
Reposting because it was the last post on the previous page
I thought, "man I hope it's better than the shitty one I saw." Then I realized it IS the shitty one I saw. I was disappointed.
Yeah i changed my mind this looks pretty bad.
Knowing 40k fans, theatres nationwide will have the stench of month-old sweat for 6 weeks [editline]20th October 2010[/editline] please don't ban me johnny [editline]20th October 2010[/editline] well if the movie was in theatres
What you have to remember is, this movie is a first, so it's not got a great big budget, hell, Bet the SC2 Cinematics budget was bigger than this films entire budget. Still, as bad as it looks it's a fucking warhammer 40,000 film! people have been waiting 15+ years for something like this, be happy they even bothered.

I'm actually pretty excited for it. It might not look the greatest aesthetically, it looks pretty damn great for a Warhammer Movie. Maybe it could even be the driving force needed to spawn more WArhammer films down the road.
Yea, if this gets anyones attention. Anyone BIG AT ALL Imagine if they thought "I wonder what would happen if I did this on a bigger budget..." or "this looks interesting, I might look into it" Also something I always wanted from a 40k movie: a slow motion clip of a bolter firing. Looks like they got it :buddy:

They've been FOXing fan made productions for years because of *air quotes* quality concerns, and then turned around and did far FAR worse. Greedy hypocrites.
They do have to protect their trademarks and copyrights you know. Most high profile one I can think of was Damnatus, but that was becuase of a conflict between UK and German copyright law. And by quality concerns, they don't just mean the appearance, but it following and sticking to their universe.
a slow motion clip of a bolter firing. Looks like they got it
Yep, and since it was at close range, the gyro rocket didn't kick in and it also didn't explode. Glad to see they finally got the bolters right on something.
A non profit product that does not defame their IP has zero business being FOXed. You can certainly defend them if you want, but this has nothing to with quality concerns, and everything to do with making sure there is exactly only their input and more importantly trademark in anything that might potentially turn into jobs or money. GW is notorious for this, and has been for years. There's nothing magnanimous about it.

I'm really disappointed in this. The DoW intro's looked better, seriously.
Have to say the quality of the graphics looked fine but the animation left something to be desired. But really? It's 40k. DO WANT. Gotrek & Felix and Gaunt's Ghosts would be brilliant as live-action films.

Gotrek & Felix and Gaunt's Ghosts would be brilliant as live-action films.
Gaunts Ghosts would be epic as a Band of Brothers style series, as for G&F, that'd be a toughie live action, because of how insanely muscled Gotrek is, along with all the fantastical foes and CGI only monsters they'd face. Squaken, the DoW Intros probably had a similar budget to the entire film, even if they didn't, they're like 2-3 minutes long, wheras the move is much much longer
A non profit product that does not defame their IP has zero business being FOXed. GW is hardly the only company that doesn't really allow fans to do whatever they like with the IP.
The models and the animations suck. Bad. But it's 40k, and as long as they purge heretics and/or xenos I am satisfied.
I have to agree, the animation looks rather terrible and the screen isn't populated enough if you get me. It's like making a pose on gm_flatgrass, sort of. The action sequences look decent at least, though.
I wanna buy it so they might make another one, but I don't really wanna see it.
awesomeness, it will be released on my birthday.
On a slightly related note, am I the only one who can't wait for the new Warhammer 40k mmo?
On a slightly related note, am I the only one who can't wait for the new Warhammer 40k mmo?
So far I do have one gripe with it, and it's that they're going for the T rating. Other than that I'm looking forward to it.
