Gaunts Ghosts would be epic as a Band of Brothers style series
This would be the best thing ever.
I don't think the trailers were that bad, I'd watch it and the slo-mo bolter part was awesome.
Some of it doesn't look too bad, but it doesn't look that good either. I'll still watch it if i get the chance.
Fuck dude I've seen CGI films for Spanish language instruction that are more smoothly animated.
They just need to rough up the textures a bit and give them more shaders. They're too clean, flat and dull. Lighting also needs work, things seem to either glow or be shrouded where they shouldn't be.
Animation still needs work. Clunky and lacks fluid motion. When they move, it's only the limb that move, there's no full body motion. Everything stops for one part.
Ok that was a shit ton better then the first trailer.
The graphics look good at times, and worse at others.
Blood Ravens are more badass IMO
Also this will be fucking awesome.
What you have to remember is, this movie is a first, so it's not got a great big budget, hell, Bet the SC2 Cinematics budget was bigger than this films entire budget.
Still, as bad as it looks it's a fucking warhammer 40,000 film! people have been waiting 15+ years for something like this, be happy they even bothered.
Might see it just on the principle that perhaps filmmakers will catch on that this is marketable and make something truly awesome.

Blood Ravens: Alzheimers Marines.
Needs more Khorne if you ask me.
just gonna be another delgo.
It looks good when they have helmets on, when you see their faces they look like :downs:
Also, Macrag? It's Mac...I can't type Phonetically. Mah-crajsh. Sorta.
Why is a squad of space marines standing in the middle of a desert standing still whilst chaos trooper charge them in said completely open desert?
Kinda silly

I'll be that game doesn't look as bad as i thought! oh that was the movie right, oh damn
Also i'm still most annoyed by the lack of details and the size is so fucked up it's not even funny. This is what i think is the correct size for them to look menancing and awesome.

Actually the size of the marines (well, generally, shoulderpads really, as thats the thing that mostly changes size) really depends on the artist responsible, Clint Langley usually does really fucking big pads, wheras other artists do smaller pads.
The size though looks spot on, keeping in mind that we don't have anything human sized in the trailers to scale it to. And there is a fairly decent amount of details on the armour, looking at the movie stills.
This movie seems to be a perfect example of, "if you're going to do it, do it right, don't half ass it."
So you're saying they've half assed it? or are you saying they haven't?
The graphics are kinda shitty, but I guess a good story will make up for it.
Damnatus wasn't actually FOXed. Games Workshop had to at least put up the illusion of not wanting it out, or under German copyright law they'd lose all of their trademarks for 40K; however, note how they didn't do anything when it got "leaked".
And this looks okay, actually.
I actually like this new trailer a lot more. But again, this animation is fucking horrible. There's no sense of weight whatsoever. It looks like a student film.
But, on the positive side, the voice acting seems pretty good. Some corny lines, but hell, the entire deal is kind of corny. I'll probably end up seeing this.
I just wish it had the budget of any given one of the games that are coming out. I mean Christ, the in game graphics for Space Marine look better than this garbage.

Space Marine actually probably has a bigger budget than the film.
It's also a testing ground for GW, so yeah the animation isn't going to be avatar level, because they simply don't have the funds.
Space Marine's budget also includes money for a Blur trailer which makes this entry look like a complete farce, and nothing's preventing GW from utilizing that talent again except GW. Rainmaker Studios and Nerd Corps are also more than capable of handling the same qualitative job at ridiculously reasonable prices.
Sure, some of the graphics and animation looks terrible but I'm not complaining because it's a fucking WH40k movie.
That's exactly what I think :v:
Ugh, not gonna lie - the way it looks, it reminds me more of Bionicle CGI movies, than anything. It certainly doesn't help that it's about Space Marines against Chaos Marines, either (Imperial Guard's fighting and character on the other hand, would make for a great movie.).

That'd be because Codex pictures (which i think GW picked just cause of the name, honestly) did the Bionicle movies too.
It's a film that sticks to the fluff, and in the fluff, guardsmen die, fast, so you'd just be introducing characters every 5 minutes and then offing them not long after that.
Its a testing the waters kind of movie, so of course they're going to use their flagship faction. If it goes well, then we might see more, a Gaunts Ghosts (or Ciaphas Cain or Penal Legion) live action band of brothers like series would probably be the best damn thing ever.
Ghosts don't die
Not easily at least :saddowns:

Yeah they do, I can name 3 Ghost regulars who die without putting up a fight.

I demand the return of Comissar Holt.
