Reposting because it was the last post on the previous page
that looks shitty and third party especially their lip syncing
that looks shitty and third party especially their lip syncing
I am pretty sure that most of the discussion in this topic for the past few pages, has been about that. But hey, at least the thing looks bloody, so it has one positive, at least. It could have been worse.
Damnatus wasn't actually FOXed. Games Workshop had to at least put up the illusion of not wanting it out, or under German copyright law they'd lose all of their trademarks for 40K; however, note how they didn't do anything when it got "leaked". And this looks okay, actually.
You win the prize for actually knowing about the whole thing.
I've been waiting for a 40k movie for years, as well as an MMO. Now that i'm getting both I'm a very happy 40k fan.
Was Damnatus actually good? Worth looking for the leaked copy?
Damnatus was, alright, i suppose, not as great as everyone seemed to make it out and iirc, it#s all in german, so you need subtitles which kinda ruins it.

Im just surprised John Hurt signed up.
I wasn't aware it was coming out so soon. Despite the strange looking faces, it doesn't look TOO bad. Gonna give that shit a watch for sure, Sean Pertwee for the win.
Bit of an update, the film has been released, and it received surprisingly good reviews, they liked the music and the writing but said the CGI was a bit shit. check out the website. http://ultramarinesthemovie.com/
Wow I totally forgot about this. Anybody here seen it yet?
Doesn't look too great but I'de watch it and why are they doing it in German?
I really want to see this just because it's a fucking 40k movie. But, $40 +s&h is way too much for a movie. Why don't they just have a $19.98 standard edition? :(
Or a 8 dollar digital rent?

Aw hell. More waiting. :froggonk:
I'm probably going to give this a look, if only because I'm interested in the lore.
Ok I ordered this the day that orders started to be accepted and still no DVD, it better go above and beyond my expectations or otherwise I am going to be seriously angered by the £27 price tag and HUGE delay.
Sure, some of the graphics and animation looks terrible but I'm not complaining because it's a fucking WH40k movie.
A bad 40k movie is going to hurt the franchise more than no movie at all. If it tanks (and it probably will because holy shit those graphics) then it's going to discourage GW from producing more.

If it tanks (and it probably will because holy shit those graphics) then it's going to discourage GW from producing more.
GW has nothing to do with the production of the movie, though But it is true enough that if it tanks, they probably would think twice about allowing other people to have another go at making a Warhammer movie. Which sucks big balls. Though from what I hear, all the people that went to see the screening of the movie thought it was pretty damn awesome, including the Games Workshop people themselves :
Look at all the damned cinematics for 40k games though, they're always freaking amazing.
It would cost them way to much to do it. If I remember right it cost them over 3mil to just do the DoW2 trailer.
The movie is out, sorry for bumping the other thread guys Wikipedia reception section says that the movie had good story and soundtrack, as well as good character interaction, but sub-par animations and CGI. The animations I expected, but a good story I did not expect, so that's a nice surprise.

The way they animated the landspeeder was sweet. And the sound throughout was just brilliant. The CGI got hated on alot but it does it's job and the marines look pretty bad-ass, which is exactly how they should look :v: I felt that the story itself was kinda not fleshed out enough, they kill off a whole bunch of guys before you even get to learn anything about them which kinda sucked and it seemed to be over very quickly, I think they should have made the film span more than just a single deployment. And the ship they're based on seemed kinda empty and lifeless, which is weird considering the size of the damn thing. And another thing that kinda bugged me but would be just nit-picking is how they can move and jump about so freely in their suits, it really struck me as odd considering how heavy those damn things must be, I mean I know they're not your average human, and the suits are powered, but it still bugged me for some reason :3 . There's other things that seemed odd too, but I won't go into those 'cause they'd spoil the story! All in all , it's still worth watching for fans of 40k, but if you're not a fan I wouldn't really bother. Not worth the price it's on sale for, so I'm glad I watched my friends copy :D
They did jump around a bit to too much, but hey, Marine are by no means slow or clumsy. The Movie jumps place to place, too much walking which doesn't build suspense. There's no easy way to tell the marine apart. Character Development does not exist. The Movie its self is kind of sub par, but being a budget film. It's more of a Pilot to test out future potential 40k film that something made to be on its own. Now lets get something that isn't Marine. Gaunt's ghost type series?

Lol I watched the trailer and thought "wow this looks shit. But I bet it's like £5 or something so oh well" ... £25.99 are you fucking kidding?
Well since it's out now, i decided to take a look at it, by no means have i finished watching it yet since i'm watching it right now, needless to say i have things to complain already, # 1 Why are their heads so large, usually when i think 'bout spece marines they're the stuff on the posters and so on may i picture an example , no really what happened did their armours shrink is that what it was? # 2 servitors voice, what the hell is that the best take they got, was that their best voicebox? It sounds like they recruited someone from the local bub, it's nowhere clear enought for me anyways, and what's up with the helmet voices shouldn't they sound like deep and scary now it's completely normal, like they're wearing nothing at all. Now that's just my opinion and i haven't seen much besides the beginning yet. And i do understand that this is just try like Gunner th said.
