A story like this will not rest on its CGi quality, to be honest that is one of the least important parts of an animated film. Good storytelling and characterisation are what sell it, because, it doesn't matter how awesome or epic your imperialistic supersoldier looks, if you can't relate to them then you've already been defeated
The Ultramarines did pwn the nids. The Space Wolves would've just said, "Fuck strategy" and charge headlong into the Hive Fleet and gotten their furry asses eaten.
I wouldn't really call losing your entire first company pwning them.
I wouldn't really call losing your entire first company pwning them.
The Ultramarines pretty much held together the Imperium after the whole shabang. And they were facing an entire hive fleet.
Yeah too bad the Imperial fleet had to come and save them otherwise that would be noteworthy.
Imperial and Ultramarine fleet. And the First Company prevented the planet from falling to ground assault. You're trying to argue that a space marine chapter isn't badass. that is a contradiction of terms.
It's cool and all but I'm pretty sure this is one of the main reasons they won the battle. [editline]12:51PM[/editline] I'm just saying other chapters have done cool shit too.
black templars is where its at
:orks:
Would be overkill but really damn cool to see them.
Well I hope they have at least one Beakie in the film, if not I'll be sad.
I want to see termies to be honest.
Well I hope they have at least one Beakie in the film, if not I'll be sad.
Need to be some special combat movie on charges where they attempt to peck the eyes out of the enemy.
I want to see termies to be honest.
Live Action Space Wolf Termies, the acting is cheesy but hey, this was done by GW in the 80's when 40K was primarily cheese.
Yeah, if ti were an accurate portrayal of the Tau it would've gone more like "Eek! Space Marines! Get awaaaaay! Hand to hand is grody!" "DIE XENO SCUM." "Argh, my spleen!" Then the Orks would have bombarded the area with Roks and have a rock concert.
Damn right.
Black Templars ARE pretty cool...
i dunno, i love the emblem, the colors fit perfectly
I have no hopes for it, i need to see the trailer first for now i belive they are going to make it "child- friendly".
I have no hopes for it, i need to see the trailer first for now i belive they are going to make it "child- friendly".
what child friendly in MY DARK FUTURE?!
I have no hopes for it, i need to see the trailer first for now i belive they are going to make it "child- friendly".
I doubt it. Let's wait till we get media before we shun it.
I wouldn't really call losing your entire first company pwning them.
One company versus the entire ground assault, holding long enough for reinforcements to arrive. The Ultramarines have their own empire and couldn't defeat an entire Hive Fleet by themselves. I highly doubt any other chapter could do better.
This is the third time I've seen a 40k film try to get off the ground. Firstly, there was Exterminatus, which Games Workshop themselves shut down due to German intellectual property law. Then there was talk of a proper 'official' film, but that never went forwards because the film directors wanted to use 'female' space marines as well as the traditional male ones.
What, did Germany copyright the fucking holocaust or something?
FOR THE EMPEROR!! i hope it isn't a bad action movie :C
Holy shit I hope there's going to be some sweet Dreadnought action.
needs moar iron hands. everyone likes iron hands.
What, did Germany copyright the fucking holocaust or something?
I think it's because due to German Copyright law, everything in the film would belong to the film makers, including all the stuff thats actually already copyrighted by Games Workshop, it couldn't be worked out so GW had to have it shut down.
There needs to be some mention of the Inquisition. You can argue that they're bitches, but really when it comes down to it, Inquisitors are the bread-and-butter of 40k society: they epitomise the fact that the Imperium of Man takes nothing from nobody, and they're one of the few agencies that the Space Marines will submit to, under the right circumstances. Inquisitors tend to represent the meta-plot of 40k where soldiers and Astartes are very much involved on local levels; if there's one good way to remind people that it's not just Marine versus alien all the time, it's to bring in an Inquisitor.
