Title, its a lenovo laptop and whenever i play Dota 2, sometime later it frozes and turns itself off.
Place ice cubes on your crotch when you have it resting on your lap.
Play underwater..
it will keep you and your laptop cool
Pour cool water on it.
Make sure it's not full of dust
My laptop started doing that and it was because I never took care of that dust problem
A++ posters would read again.
place a small book or something under it so that the bottom of the laptop gets a bit air

or buy a laptop cooler

Use it on hard straight surfaces, possibly put put the laptop a little inclined to let the fans breathe.
I have one of those coolers but i'm so idiot that i left it at house because weight problems.
You want to make your laptop stop to overheat?
Tape the vents shut.
Shut it down.
Guys why are you being such fucking assholes he only wants to get an answer to his question.
Also, a method I used before I got a cooling stand for a laptop, was to get 4 bottle caps and blue tac them to each corner of the underside of the laptop, that way it is above the surface it's on, and it's actually pretty handy.
Only use it at the North (or South i suppose) pole.
I bought a laptop cooler just to keep my MSI's fan from getting mangled, and it does its job.
I'd keep dusting the fan and using the laptop cooler, and be sure that the paste hasn't dried up.
I put two dvd covers on both corners of mine with a fan blowing air from the side, I can play tf2 for 6 hours without it heating up.
make sure your fan is clean. It really makes a difference because the fans' job is to keep the computer cool (duh) and if its not doing its job then you should know theres a problem
Don't actually use the laptop in your lap. Despite the name this will cause it to heat up pretty quickly.
Use liquid nitrogen to cool it
Icebags underneath it.
Take care of dust, make sure it's well ventilated. Make sure that you're running as little software as possible. If you're running dota, you can shut down explorer, your antivirus, and anything else you're not using. You can also try running dota in lower settings if you haven't already, including no sound and music. Make sure that the battery is secured to the laptop, it'll do that if you pick it up and it isn't secure.
