Because they could've spent those resources are literally anything else and it would've been a hell of a lot more worthwhile, imagine if they had spent that time and money on improving Steam as a whole, or spent that money starting the foundation for a proper customer support system.
I'm sure that they weighed the options and porting games ended up being better for the company than those other options.
Also, depending on the game, porting might not even take that many resources.

In what reality does improving the basic functionality of your enormously popular program come after porting games to an OS that isn't made for games? Even if that is the case, I'd see it as more proof of Valve's mismanagment and scattered priorities.
Pre-Special Edition Return of the Jedi is an awesome movie and I don't mind the Ewoks at all

Washington Redskins? More like Washington FOREskins. HAH.
OT: I think the DLC practices of OVK for Payday 2 are fucking terrible
It's probably been said before but I find that GTAV is a painfully average game which makes it exceedingly boring. I can't name a single thing which it does better than any other open world game, infact it does almost everything worse than Just Cause 2 does, the weapons and the vehicles are worse than JC2's, the world is smaller(iirc) and there's less variation in it and it's far less destructible. Sure there's lots of mini games and side missions in GTA V but there's no point to doing any of them.
The multiplayer in GTA V is so poorly streamlined and obviously designed by Rockstar to milk the players for money that I'm surprised that people like it. I can't see the fun in spawning into a random world filled with only a handful of other people who spend all their time trying to kill each other.
Can someone please explain to me the appeal of GTA V because I literally cannot understand all the praise this game gets for being completely unremarkable in every field.
GTA Online is fucking awful in general, there's next to no incentive to level up other than to buy different weapons and stuff, which you get bored of after 5 minutes of use

I just want the GTA IV styled "fuck around without limitations" back

Just Cause 2 is a terrible game imo, having a huge world doesn't mean it's better. It's too empty, and GTA V is better in that regard because it has a smaller, tighter world. Not to mention the near cringe-worthy voice acting, the boring vehicles and handling, the story isn't that great (you can say the same about GTAV though). JC2 is boring, save for the about 10 minutes of entertainment that being Spiderman bring.
Nit saying GTAV is perfect, but it's a far better game than JC2.

I'd argue the opposite, I'd argue that GTA V has a smaller and emptier world than JC2. The world in JC2 has so much variation, there are cities, deserts, mountain ranges and jungles all of which are littered with settlements you can destroy. Whilst in GTA V it's just a couple mountains, 1 city and the rest is pretty much desert, sure there's lots of stuff in the world but you can't do anything with it like you can in JC2.
I'll admit that the cars and the handling in JC2 aren't very good but who needs cars when you can just spawn a jet out of nowhere or literally just fly to get around, besides some of the vehicles in JC2 are great fun particularly the DLC ones like the monster truck or the hovercraft. But in GTA V you're forced to use average cars to get around, you can't fly around whenever you want to nor can you just play around with silly vehicles.
Just Cause 2 is a joke game like Saints Row, which is the point. It's not meant to be anything but a dick-around world to have fun in, whereas GTA V follows common GTA themes. It's somewhat lifelike in it's presentation, I guess. It has (at least not really in the case of GTA V's story) excellent storytelling/themes/exposition/setting, attention to detail out the WAZOO, the gunplay is tight and realistic, the cars are believable, the place feels alive, and the whole series prides itself on its "this could actually happen" thing. You can't just blow up cities and towns because that would have huuuuge repercussions, and the entire world would be shut down
You've clearly never used any cheats, because there are tons for GTA V :v: Aside from stuff slow-motion, explosive punches, super jumps, invincibility, and pedestrian-behavior, there are monster trucks, dump trucks, a bunch of helis, a bunch of planes, two military jets (one is free from DLC), boats, cars, motorcycles, bikes, all sorts of big rigs. I mean heck now with PC stuff you can spawn things you never could in the console release.
Cities with sub-cities/districts inside them (and citizens to match the area), hick towns, desert, mountains, explorable DEEP ocean, forest, have you actually played GTA? "The rest is pretty much desert" couldn't be more wrong

Also my unpopular opinion for the day is
Anita Sarkeesian is right about everything
[sp]but she presents these issues like a fucking cunt and needs to be sat down and talked to about why being a condescending sexist twat is ruining the cause[/sp]

All drugs should be legal, but many of them you could only get with a prescription. Possession of those drugs would be ok as long as you have a prescription.
Check the thread you're in, bud. :)
idk, these dumb ratings are showing it isn't that unpopular

The world has more variation but there's not much to do to be honest compared to GTAV.

Also I found Fury road to be good, but not great or like the best movie of the year or anything.

dumb ratings don't mean anything anymore though

very temporary though, we also get some good posters back in the game. in a month or two the shitheads will be back in the dustbin. if that even, they seem to often just go into SH and talk about how they hate brown people and then get perma-banned very quickly.

I like the idea of second chances for those who've learnt their lesson but I'm not the one who has to ban all the toxic members so :v:

Dumb= "You are fucking retarded" or "I disagree with your opinion"
Dumb= "You are fucking retarded" or "I disagree with your opinion"
It's more the former though since disagree is a thing.
Mad Max Fury Road was a 9/10 movie but Charlize Theron was the biggest fucking issue with it.
It's more the former though since disagree is a thing.
People use dumb instead of disagree because "I disagree with your opinion because your opinion is fucking dumb" so it's both, really.
People use dumb instead of disagree because "I disagree with your opinion because your opinion is fucking dumb" so it's both, really.
I rate people's posts dumb out of spite.
It's more the former though since disagree is a thing.
Nah, people rarely use dumb as intended and instead use dumb for disagree and disagree for things that'll make them go "nope" like a guy losing all his limbs to a shark or a bee the size of a car.

But the way I see it, why would you want to have a open world game when the purpose isn't just to fuck up everything, I can't understand why you'd want a quasi-realistic open world game when there are games which are off-the-wall insane? I guess my point is that, GTA V lacks any sense of spectacle or permanence and doesn't really satisfy any power fantasy that other open world games like JC or SR do. But I suppose it's just not the sort of game I can enjoy because that's not what the game is for.
You've clearly never used any cheats, because there are tons for GTA V Aside from stuff slow-motion, explosive punches, super jumps, invincibility, and pedestrian-behavior, there are monster trucks, dump trucks, a bunch of helis, a bunch of planes, two military jets (one is free from DLC), boats, cars, motorcycles, bikes, all sorts of big rigs. The thing is that the sort of insanity you get from GTA V's cheats and mods aren't part of the main game, whilst in JC2 you're expected to just spawn in super weapons and go on insane destructive sprees.
Cities with sub-cities/districts inside them (and citizens to match the area), hick towns, desert, mountains, explorable DEEP ocean, forest,
Sure all of this is attention to detail but you can't "do anything with it", it exists purely as scenery.
GTA V is a game that I just "don't get".

I was unbanned on garrys birthday 2012, so I'll have to disagree
